Say what now lol. How would it be part of your recovery information ?

Your account's creation date is one of the pieces of information that you can provide if you ever need to recover your account. It can be used alongside details such as previous display names and passwords, previous IP addresses, your ISP, alternative accounts, billing information, and real life addresses as part of the recovery process. Such information is regarded as gold standard for account recovery, and the more information that can be provided, the better.

For this reason, many people refrain from divulging the information that Hans provides, as it can be used to figure out the exact date on which the account was created. There are plenty of online calculators that could do the mathematics for a potential hijacker.

You can divulge approximate dates, such as the amount of months or years played, but I wouldn't recommend giving our precise details.

I think Jagex needs to re-evaluate a security question and put something else in it's place because I never heard of days old being a security question until this year.

It isn't like I go through recovery questions on the daily. This is new to me. Instead of having Hans outright revealing security information to players who talk with him, how about he instead inform us that it is in fact a recovery question.

I Just checked mine with Hans.... I am old. Math comes out to almost 19 years. I had an account by the name of Diabloman69 that I created back in early 2000 in the very early days, but it was lost to the wind in a hack due to my foolishness. So this one is my oldest active account. I play both OSRS and RS3. I may not be the oldest active account, but I am sure I have to be in the top 50 at least.

For a while Hans in RS3 didn't tell you how old your account was exactly. Think it got changed with the release of Veteran's Capes. But because he still did in OSRS, they ended up changing it so he did. Personally I think they should have gone the other way round, but eh.
