Like you, I also stopped playing around 3 years ago. I thought I would have stopped for good (as in quit). I just happened to come back a week before this most recent double XP weekend and unfortunately, I got hooked again. Now I'm back to 5hr+ days of playing. I'm not sure how this even happened but it does feel good to be back!

Do you think you will start playing regularly again?

Not sure. Now that I am done with Necromancy, I don't have any other goals to work towards. The next skill will take several years, so I have a lot of time to prepare for it. I can only play this game if I have a goal to work towards. It was the reason I stopped logging in several years ago. I just had nothing to work towards.

The new skill unfortunately ended a bit too fast. I was expecting to be at it a lot longer. I don't think anyone was anticipating rituals to be the META way to train all the way to 120/200M XP.

I was expecting combat to be the META and I wasted a lot of time preparing for it in the early levels.

Nobody really quits RuneScape. Sometimes we just take really long breaks.

Pretty much. Although, some people do actually leave for good.

My will to play has died again though. Once I finished Necromancy, my desire to log in completely dropped. It'll probably return again when the next skill comes out. Hoping we get an Astronomy skill one day. .

It has been an eventful night for me.

This evening I got Dungeoneering level 100!

Then late tonight, I got 99 Woodcutting and 99 Firemaking!

This was the first time I ever got two 99s at the same time. These were the second and third 99s I have gotten this month, and the sixth and seventh 99s I have gotten this year.

I can see your point. When there are no more goals for you to strive for, the motivation to log in just isn't there. Sometimes the daily grind gets to be so boring that, even for those who still have goals left to reach, it can feel like a chore to log in daily just to do the same tasks over and over again. Uhm, I have an idea.. maybe don't try to play 24/7 and get 200m XP within less than a month of the skill coming out? Lets be honest here, you are chasing for ranks and thats why you did that.

That's also why you probably dont like the game. You play it for the wrong reasons and you end up burning out.

Maybe next time the new skill comes out, you actually enjoy and cherish the moments instead of prepping beforehand and grinding 14+ hours a day trying to 200m XP the skill as fast as you can for a high rank on hiscores...

i also have an idea, dont tell people how to enjoy the game.

some people like the 200m grinds and thats it. so when thats over they leave.
