Definitely be reading more or watching more Runescape Novelty IP products - novels, comic books, and who knows... maybe we get to watch the Untold Tales of the Godwars and Elder Godwars, as well as Guthix's Gift and our very own adventures of the World Guardian and Duke of Fort Forinthry on TV or big screens too.

As expected, Jagex or whatever it will be called will only be far more relying on their novelty IP for their future.

As expected, Jagex is eager to release Jagex Launcher before the sale to increase their values.

We should be able to access more Jagex games soon after November 7. Plenty of games to play then.

Actually it will cost them accounts, and that means lower value. For instance I'll be cancelling our alt. If I can't share it with the wife, and I was going to let our grand daughter take it for a spin to see if she likes RS3, then I have no reason to keep it.

What does this have to do with "if Runescape did not exist"? Why do you keep resurrecting this thread? Along with several others. And for some more fun, what happened to "RS3 and EOC are the future!". Now it seems you are pushing "SCUM".

Which is...fitting...somehow...

Runescape, now on Netflix, said no one ever.

RS3 and OSRS are just two games. If they don't exist, we will have a lot other Jagex games on Jagex Launcher. SCUM is also just another game, don't you realize Jagex has far more than RS3, OSRS and SCUM? Even if SCUM doesn't exist too, we still have Jagex Launcher games.

The Gift of Guthix trilogy on Amazon's Prime Video, not Netflix, perhaps. Microsoft is wasting no time to announce the release of its Fallout TV series just days after it completed the acquisition of ABK. Whoever Jagex's new owner will be probably are going to do similar things.

In the end, Runescape the game may not exist (or exists under a different franchise name) but its 15 years of episodic forever stories will continue to be told forever in different media.

BTW, Fallout has only 300 Twitch viewers now, even RS3 and SCUM have more viewers than it.

Yet, Fallout is going to get a TV series released in April next year, around the time when Jagex released their new novels and cookbook but still no TV series for Runescape.

I'll be watching the almost 50 years old Fallout on TV for sure. The older the stories, the better and far more substance and novelty for entertainment if not video games. Hopefully I will be still playing Runescape when I am watching Fallout on TV next April.

Jagex wouldn't exist if it weren't for RS3/OSRS, aka Runescape. That is the only game that Jagex has produced with any staying power/profitability. And it's what is paying for the purchase of ... cough ... SCUM ...

And which Jagex Launcher game, that doesn't have "Runescape" in the name, that even begins to approach the ability to pay "just the bills"? Hint: there isn't one.

SCUM is in "early release" but yet... MTX is already popping it's head up and that's _after_ Jagex bought it. Which makes sense in a way, because it's a one time purchase versus monthly income for the Runescape franchise. Hell, we have more active players between the two online at any given time than there are total reviews for SCUM.

No Runescape, no Jagex, it's really that simple.

And quite frankly I don't care one way or the other, I'm here for RS3. I'm glad that OSRS is going so strong. I could care less about "SCUM".

Didn't you read my posts on this thread? This Jagex doesn't have to exist when there are new Jagex, only that they may not be called Jagex.

Bear in mind this thread is based on the hypothetical scenarios RS3 and OSRS don't exist, personally I don't think RS3 will cease to exist for a long time as they have all the content and MTX. The current community of RS3 may not exist, but this game can be launched for different communities of players, especially the consumer sector which doesn't care about existence of MTX. Yet, I am just tagging along OP's hypothetical secenarios.

Don't you realize once when Jagex Launcher is released, they will put all the other Jagex games like SCUM, Pipeworks' poker game, the 3 Earthlocks series games, This Means Warp, Melvor Idle and perhaps new ones later on it soon?

"Don't you realize" ... that if playing Runescape isn't enough you'll at least pay us for this...lmao

Compared to Runescape those are 3rd or even 4th bit play toys. Show me one that has even a 1/10th of the online users. Go ahead, I'll wait...
