Playing the other game that similar to RuneScape. It's an online game.... Contains a Desert and a lot of stuff to level up... It also has the word Black in it.

- It is a big, multiplayer, very community-oriented, open world sandbox game.
- They are super community-oriented and community driven. They listen, they care.
- They polled their players what they want and development priorities to be... so not listening to players, by being directly guided by them as well.
- We are taking it to the next level, taking it to a full launch, and taking it further around the globe. Taking it to the consoles as well.
- Ideally, we want it to be another evergreen game where millions of people play every month and they do so for decades to come.

On the Milestone 10th Anniversary of OSRS, Mod Pips has delivered a very very, upbeat speech and details on what their HUGE game is, and their future plans for it... but this huge game Mod Pips selling is not OSRS. It is SCUM. :)

Very interesting, right? Pips described SCUM like it is what OSRS is, only that it is not an abomination of game modes, but one of the solid integral parts of the Jagex Partner frameworks which doesn't compete with the other partners. It sounds like a solid replacement in the event OSRS ceases to exist. Besides, being combat oriented, with seemingly budgets to move onto different platforms including consoles and uncharted part of the globes that OSRS seems to be lacking, it sounds like an even more viable vehicle for the OSRS style content creator community.

While very community driven games like SCUM can replace OSRS potentially, it is not an old school MMORPG.

However, there is a highly anticipated old school MMORPG on the horizon. It was just announced a couple of days ago, Amazon Games is bringing NCSoft's highly anticipated old school MMORPG they have been developing for a decade, Lineage Eternal, to the world as Throne and Liberty later this year.

This should also be good news for old school MMORPG players if we don't see one day we don't see OSRS anymore.

DIablo IV and FFXVI are, of course, also highly anticipated and insanely popular, but on the combat side. They will be released before the end of this year. Oh! We don't need to have phones. :)

They wouldn't fill the void if the more causal and skiller friendly RS3 didn't exist, but nonetheless well worth the consideration if the heavy combat OSRS disappeared with or without their new skill.

In 2012 when Jagex wasn't doing well financially and missed filing their mandated annual financial reports with the UK Companies House, Runesape was diversified into RS3 and OSRS subsequently.

In 2022, Jagex was also found filing their annual financial report late with the UK Companies House. Subsequently when they filed it we have learned RS3 has been doing better than ever with a 20% growth in revenue or twice the growth rate the game industry. The pitfall actually was from the -7% growth from OSRS. So... if history repeats itself, will OSRS be diversified into 2 or more games?

Well, when OSRS is diversified, we may not have OSRS anymore, but we may still have some remnants of the current OSRS that I may still consider playing.
