First, I would need to know the FY budget. Put together a research team to look into the costs for developing a c++ based Runescape game. This would be a project projected in the next 5-8 years. Look into contract agreements with Square Enix or Rockstar Games lead developers as they are clear professionals in the gaming field.

On the current game we have now, we would scale back updates. Ninja fixes for the next 2-3 years then drop the bomb regarding our c++ development to keep Runescape relevant. Polls would be released to determine if the player base would be satified with our current pace to make the project a reality. RS3 and OSRS will remain legacy clients for those jnot wanting to join. They will be supported until the release of C++ Runescape and then released as open source.

I'll step up the development of the JXP platform and promotion of the Runescape franchise revolving around, of course, none other then the 20 year old Runescape.

Eventually, RS3 will be spearheading all the cross platforum Runescape franchise and partner games under the JXP client, hopefully in 2 years.

Neither,

I would put the future of the game in the hands of the players as it seems they are the reason why I would be able to collect a check, employ people, and kick back on my yacht. "A happy customer is a returning customer"

I would be hands on only because I love the game and well, if you're doing what you love then its not work. Mostly being hands on by simply playing the game assists in the decision making process as you might get a better feel on how updates will effect players at eh noobiest of levels.

I would also trust my devs creativity and allow them the ability to make ideas come to life. The implementation of those ideas into the game are best introduced at specific times not first come first serve.

I would also turn this thing back into a consumption based free economy not bound by an exchange or algorithms that tell me what something is worth.

"As we prepare to lift the lid on the first JXP title, developed by the team at Flying Wild Hog in Cracow, these additions come at a very exciting time.”

Oh so I am about to announce the first JXP title developed by Flying Wild Hog, I better think of the 2nd, and then the 3rd ones ASAP.

Summer 2021 has officially arrived. This summer is probably quite different from summer last year in the game industry as most players won't be home bound anymore.

I'll expect more challenging player number on the PC side than last year as not many players will bring their PC or laptop to the beach or cinema, so I will definitely focus more on mobile, especially iOS where RS3 has just flexing its muscles.

I know my mission is to grow Jagex and the Runescape Franchise. I know I will must be more proactive than ever to find The Next Runescape.

So I will sincerely ask the Community whether they like the 20 year old Runescape to continue to be The Next Runescape and spearhead the Runescape Franchise? Or they want to see a brave new Next Runescape? The time is now, in 2021. :)

Congratulations! You have become CEO of Jagex and you now carry the final say on decisions.

Would you be a hands-on CEO who leaves their own print on the game or would you delegate responsibilities to current Content Devs? What is your first move?

Me, I would decrease the amount of updates so I can take more days off. Now I'm at the top, it's time to enjoy my paycheck. Yes, I'd be a terrible CEO.

First thing I'd do is relax restrictions on language. This isn't Neopets and this game was not made for kids alone, There is such thing as excessive moderation. (Don't get me wrong, I'm glad this game has mods, but too much moderation is almost as bad as no moderation.)

Such a thing would surely help breath some fresh life into the forum as well, I've notice that even less people post in these forums than usual.

I'd tell the Lore team they can't keep escalating the huge world-threatening stuff forever, since after a certain point it just gets ridiculous. We need more small-scale stuff (like storylines focusing on certain areas) to balance out the more global things like the Elder Gods.

I'd ask for the forums to be updated.

I'd insist that all measures to fight against botting/RWT be brought up to date.

I'd make a rule against scenery that doesn't have an 'examine' message. :)

I'd commission a 'Gielinor Space Reclamation Project' to reclaim space on the world map that has been taken up by overly large additions. I'd have the Grand Exchange moved to a special area similar to POH or the Circus, accessed via a scale model (which looks like a palette swamp of the beach event's Sand Exchange) northwest of Varrock West Bank. It wouldn't be instanced, so players could still meet with each other there, too. I'd also move the Clue Scroll camp, the Quest camp, and the Clan Camp to that area. In addition to space considerations, the G E's current location (right up against the Wilderness) makes no sense lore-wise. It'd be like Game of Thrones locating the Iron Bank right near the Wall, seemingly unconcerned about the possibility of the White Walkers showing up.

I wouldn't focus too much on voice acting, since dialogue might have to be changed as various things change within RuneScape. However, I WOULD have some NPC dialogue be voice-acted. Specifically, an NPC whose one purpose is to tell us how to pronounce certain names (like Ardougne, Priffdinas, and so forth).

I'd bring 'Still Night' back to RS3, and maybe ask the music team to do more variations on it.

I'd allow designers to take breaks from time to time, and encourage them not to work themselves too hard, and try to avoid rushing any updates if it can be helped. (Obviously, some seasonal events certainly have to arrive at the right time).

I see a few have said or indicated that they would leave at least part of the development of the game to the players through polls. While that seems like a good idea, it isn't that easy.

There was a game I played for a few years and quit 3 years ago (for economic reasons). They wanted to revamp the game according to what the players wanted. They put out polls, after polls, after polls and started implementing some of the features that got the majority votes. Some were welcomed changes, some didn't make a hill of beans of sense, according to the theme of the game. I guess they did some investigating and found that players were voting with their main and with their alts, even to the point of making new characters to try to swing the votes. The polls were stopped.

I'm not a big gamer and computerese is way above my head. So, I'll let you younger players battle that out.
