Our clan’s total XP has suddenly decreased by a lot – Why?

When a member leaves a clan, their XP contribution to the clan is not immediately removed. This is a manual update that must be initiated by a Jagex Moderator. Periodically, a JMod will update the total Clan XP for all clans at once. When this happens, the combined change can be very large. Many clans don’t realize how much this “lost” XP can build up over time before an update occurs.

There are RuneScape fansites, such as RunePixels, which keep track of Clan XP changes as they occur. The Clan XP listed on this website is a more accurate representation of your clan’s current XP total.

Note: RunePixels.com is a third-party, player-run fansite dedicated to clan tracking that is not affiliated with Jagex.
Use it at your own risk

My total Clan XP is much lower than my Total XP on the highscores - Why?

Clan XP is the total amount of XP you have gained since you joined that clan. In nearly all cases, it will be much lower than the total amount of XP you have gained since you started playing RuneScape.

For example, if a player has 100m XP on their account and gains 25m XP after joining a clan, they will have 125m total XP and 25m Clan XP.

Clan XP also does not transfer to other clans, so if you leave (or get kicked from) a clan, your Clan XP is deleted and cannot be retrieved. You will start at 0 Clan XP every time you join a clan.

How are clan kill counts determined?

Your clan kill count increases if you kill another player in the Wilderness who is in a clan as well. It does not work if you are in the same clan, though.

Additionally, unlike how a Clan’s Total XP will decrease due to members leaving the clan, a clan’s kill count is the collective total of kills since the clan was founded as this amount does not decrease when members leave.

Why won’t my clan’s motif/banner/vexillum update on our Clan Page?

There is currently a caching issue on Jagex’s end that prevents Clan Banners from updating on Clan Pages. Based on our observations, this issue began around December 2017 and has yet to be fixed.

The issue has been addressed on the forums by Mod Lyon (23 May 2018):
Original message details are unavailable.
Hey there,

Frankly we're super busy with ... literally everything.. right now, hence why we haven't replied sooner.

The problem is a caching issue on our side not refreshing the banner, unfortunately there's not a solution I can give you that I'm aware of. Further, this isn't something that's going to be fixed for some time.

If there are any more updates or I'm corrected by another JMod I'll let you know. Until then I'm afraid its something you're going to have to grin and bear.

Apologies,
Mod Lyon

Another reply from Mod Lyon (22 July 2019):
Mod Lyon said :
Unfortunately, while some of the issues you've mentioned are no brainers such as fixing the clan flags, it's not something that's considered to be a priority at this time.

Hopefully we'll get some time to work on these in the future, but at the moment we're dealing with much more pressing issues which require our attention.

This post will be updated if/when more information regarding the issue is made available.

How do I post a thread link on our Vexillum?

The only threads you can link on your Vexillum are those on your Clan Forum. You cannot link to threads in the main RuneScape forums, such as this thread.

Therefore, to add a link to your Vexillum:

1. Go to your Clan Page Forum [log into the RS website, then go to Community > Clans, then click on Forums to the left of your clan banner].
2. View the thread you would like to make a link to.
3. Copy the 4 character Thread ID, found at the top right corner of the thread.

4. In game, click on the Clan Chat tab.
5. At the bottom of the Clan Chat window, click on the ‘Clan Settings’ button.
6. In the window that opens, click on ‘Clan Settings’ again [found at the top in the centre]
7. Click Edit Thread ID and paste, or type, the Thread ID into the chat box, and click Save.

Notes:
• If you would like to allow players who are not in your clan to see the thread, be sure to make it public. The option to make the thread public is found at the top of the thread.

• You must be in your Clan Chat to be able to edit the Thread ID on the Vexillum.

Why do threads on my Clan Forum Page disappear?

Threads which are not stickied on your Clan Forum are automatically deleted 14 days after the last post. They do not get archived, so the threads are permanently lost.

To avoid this, you can choose to stick a maximum of 5 important threads. The option to stick a thread is found at the top of that thread.

If you have already used up all 5 stickies, it is suggested you bump* the threads you want to keep every week or so and also keep copies of them saved on a word document on your computer. Editing any of your posts on the thread also resets the two week timer it seems.

* A bump is making any post on the thread. I usually just post the word 'bump'
