I don't have an official source for the inactive offers, but it's been confirmed by people who merch on multiple accounts. If you put in a big offer for a resource and log out (for example, offering to buy 5m coal for 300gp each), it will stop buying after about 1050K coal. That's (1 week) x (25k coal per 4 hours).
As long as you log in at least once every week, your offer will remain active. The line for max cash blue phats, christmas crackers, white phats, and druidic tops/bottoms is certainly months if not years long.
Thanks for the guide Accomplishes. Regarding your signature though - what's your opinion on Rota Fortuna, "luck is blind" vs. "fortune favors the bold"
Congratulations, your thread has been nominated for best thread of the month (June) as a part of the all new
Runescape Forum Awards
!
Hey there ol' cap! Congratulations on the nomination
I have to say I have learnt a few things reading through this more thoroughly. I know this sounds stupid, but I didn't actually know how the buyer and seller interaction worked, so that is awesome to know. I didn't know about the prioritising of older offers and the week away sending to the back of queue etc.
Great guide and really nicely laid out and easy to understand
....
I don't think luck is "blind." I think good things happen to people who seek out opportunities for themselves. Just this past week I won a national award for which I spent several hours writing application essays and interviewing. Fortune smiled on my decision to apply.
And thanks Misty! I'll make a merchant out of you soon enough!
Brilliant guide! This falls under the segment of guide that felt useful all the way through. I've been guilty for years of the childish instant-sell policy, but after this now I'm at least one step ahead of a large chunk of the community.
