Hi,
I am an active flipper and have been using this method. It works, but the logic don't make sense and I feel you are leaving out some information purposely.
Based on your explanation of how the GE works. The most recent order always gets priority and they will always get the lowest selling price (if they are buying at max price) and the highest buying price (if they are selling at lowest price) for the order they place.
So are we checking the lowest selling price and the highest buying price then? in order to "buy low and sell high"? No, I don't think we are. Because the price we checked as the lowest selling price is always higher than the highest buying price.
How can this be and how can we say we are buying low and selling high, when we are not even using the lowest selling price that we checked to buy. We are actually using the highest buying price we checked to buy?
So there is a magical margin between the highest buying price we checked for and the lowest selling price we checked for. Which would also imply in the GE marketplace, everyone who is buying is always buying at a lower price than everyone who is selling. Which is also the case in the example you gave for rune 2h. This is obviously not true.
Maybe the two prices we checked are not the true price floors and ceilings. Maybe they are determined by volume of the order. Or maybe we have some underlying formulas and systems that is confidential and cannot be disclosed. I hope this question can be addressed.
Thanks,
Wala
