ABC4LIFE - No, they are pretty knowledgeable on the game. However, sometimes they may not want to talk about a specific topic, etc. They have already focused on many other scams like phishing. therefore, I guess they're leaving this topic out for users to cover. As, since we play the game more than most employees, we probably know more about the in-game activity that happens.

So I recently bought dragon kiteshield and platebody, and as I'm a bit of a show-off sometimes, I like walking around with it. Fortunately I'm highly sceptic too, since so far today two times have a group of two players tried to scam me with the red portal thingy that has been explained a couple of times on this thread (by others than the topic creator). The first time a guy wanted to give me 20M for a quitting video for youtube, and the second time I was asked to lure another guy at the red portal. Both times I was contacted in Falador main square.
I had no idea how the scam would work, since I don't really use the castle wars and don't know the mechanics around there, but it's a no-brainer to realize the only goal of those two events was to graciously remove the heavy weight of dragon armour from me. All four were reported after a brief discussion that clearly revealed their intentions. When I report someone, the discussion I've had with the reported is seen by the evaluator, right?
If a mod or any other trustee of Jagex that has been given divine powers finds himself bored at any time, a fun way to send scammers to oblivion is to go to Falador or any other big city with expensive stuff and medium combat levels like 50-70 (the scammers I faced were all 90+, and I doubt they even bother to try to lure with red portal low level pures even if they have expensive stuff). Have a small chat with the scammers (which clearly show their intentions) and shoot them with a modchinegun (ban, if not obvious).

Hey, this is a new scam that I found out about.
Coin illusion
The scammer: "Hey! Do you want to win __________m?"
Victim:"Yes please"
The scammer: "Okay take this teleport then follow me." Takes the victim to a remote location.
The scammer: "Okay turn of your games feed, and withdrew ____m from your money bag and then close it.
Victim: Does what he is told.
The scammer: "Okay if you do not pick up my 2gp you win________ m" The scammer drops the 2gp.
The scammer: "When you see the 2gp drop your coins on top of it then pick your coins ONLY back up, then meet me in _______
(You would think that the victim had his money in his money bag now wouldn't you?
He does not, he has the 2gp in his money bag why this happens I do not know but my friend showed me this scam so I didn't get scammed by it.

about the "Show me your inventory Scam"
this happend to me a few weeks ago except they took it a step further. i've normally kept my account pretty secure but this guy must have known my pass somehow because he got me to show him my inventory and then was able to lagg me out, logg into my account and drop trade everything worth anything. so if someone asks you to show your inv. i just wouldnt even give them the time of day now.
Edit: sense it was in my inv. it wasn't protected by my bank pin. also my money was out of my pouch in my inv. so i could trade it. all in all he got ~100m

Well...now we have a guide for scammers, who are more likely to read this... Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

LOLOLOL, I fell for the doubling money trick, lost 3.8 mil, which is every last gold that I own.
Skilling right now though, so money doesn't mean much to me, that's fortunate. Got everything I need to continue normally, as if that never happened...
My two cents is, don't EVER trust doubling-money trades, don't EVER believe any of their stories ("I'm quitting RS giving away 56mil&quot ;) , unless it's a one-window trade.
