Bionicler, seems you, and my clansmen and I independently had the same idea. Had no idea this thread dealt with similar issues, and as we are actively engaged in proactive measures to reduce scamming, we wrote our own Scam Prevention guide. Had we met earlier in the game, we might have been able to put our heads and experiences together to create the mother-of-all-scam prevention guides. Sadly, that was not the case. If you are looking for a good clan who supports your efforts though, XTERNITY is one place where you are welcome :)

brand new scam!!!!!! thanks to jagex adding the money pouch the scam has now exolved!!! intoducing the money pouch scam
here is what happened to my freind he was sitting in the ge fletching had his cash in his money pouch and he saw someone doing a "youtube video" so he figured ok well no harm done and said he would do it. but the guy asked him to bring nothing and go out in wildy with him he did with his money still in the money pouch. got out there and the guy asked him how much he had in his money pouch and my freind told him (it was 12m) the guy said well take it out and show me cause i dont beleive you well he messaged me at this point and asked me what happens if you do withdraw it in the wildy and i told him i did not know but i would withdraw only a little bit maybe 100 gp he did and when he tried to put it in his money bag he couldnt. at this point he ment to message me and tell me he could not put it in the bag in the wildy but he mistaked and said it in public and get killed after being tbed fortuneately he listened to me and did not lose much he lost 100gp but the thing is when you go to trade with the guy and you show him hte money you get tbed and then you die and loose it

This sounds to me like another luring tactic. I would stongly reccommed that if somebody askes you to be in a youtube video, you decline, as most of the time it is a luring video. If anybody askes you to do this, I would just walk away and not get caught in a lure.

Just a friendly reminder. Don't fall for dubling, flower game or horse game scams. If you lose your money or items, Jagex cannot return them. Also I have seen in recent weeks a very old scam begining to resurface. Do not fall for people saying "trimming armour" as it is impossible for any player to trim armour. While i'm on the topic of old scams, watch out for players saying "free gem cutting" as this was a scam a long time ago. I have not seen this come back yet, but i am keeping my eye out for any scam old or new. Stay safe and have fun.
