Have any of you read any of the sci-fi books by Ian M Banks?

In which he describes this radically advanced, space faring, anarchistic society comprised of many species which is collectively called "The Culture".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Culture

Effectively, "The Culture", as people, just do whatever they want, but there is also a dark side, to protect their unlimited freedom they rely upon a shadowy organization called "Special Circumstances" to carry out their dirty work as and when needed.

As both sides threw furious blows at eachother, untold horrors and unrivaled levels of cuteness being released, slowly but surely, Corugi began to waver. Seeing this, Jack knew it was time to pick up the pace, that he could not afford to give the enemy a chance to recover.

This has a remarkable echo of something I know, but for the life of me I cannot quite put my finger on it right now.

What colour are the EDust Assassins?

Oh no, wait. They're sentient and ruthlessly efficient.

Oh yeah... the EDust Assassins, they were my favorites. *drools*

The Culture was something I could personally identify with. Basically a real friendly bunch of people who were, like, you know, just into everyone doing their own thing. A civilization that had embraced absolute personal freedom. No laws, no societal judgements, respecting the intrinsic right of everyone around them to pursue happiness and self expression.

But what if someone tried to oppose that philosophy? What if someone would dare to attack this benign and highly advanced society? The Culture would wipe them out of existence. Without mercy. But with great regret. Of course.

My sort of people.

Noo. Been reading Stephen Hawking's Briefer History of Time.

Especially since it details the curvature of motion,
relating to Spitballs.

And of course, most importantly, ships without rudders.

@Corugi...re your post on Pasmo Thread, "lowest common denominator"...
The television industry here, has ever abided by those rules...with some exceptions ofc.
