Thanks for the interesting comments, and it is also timely as the oft postponed revival for Vanyar was being discussed by some of the old clan over the last day or so.

My son finally gets his trip to Cambridge in just over a week now, and we shall be having lunch with a number of J-Mods and their other special guests on the Friday before attending Rune Fest.
(I am still somewhat gobsmacked this ever started some 16 months ago with an unexpected message to my son in his message centre. But it is soon to be.)

EDIT: I was raised in New Jersey, and am of Dutch, Swedish, Swiss and British ancestry (more Scottish than Welsh), and moved to Sydney half my lifetime ago. My sons are of good Aussie convict stock, so our brief visit to London may include a dash of the convict voyage history.

In less than 48 hours, the journey to London will have begun.
My son and I will miss some of the bonus exp time as we will be on a Sydney to London Qantas flight for like an entire day, and then on our rest day at the hotel which Jagex has us at near the Rune Fest venue we will have to suss out internet access.
The plan on Friday is a lunch in Cambridge with a bunch of people including Andrew, Paul, MMG, various J-Mods and the guests we will tour Jagex with, then the afternoon tour.
The weekend is of course Rune Fest with early entry and all the VIP ticket stuff and we sadly miss the after party disco thing as Obby is a tad shy of 16. (Maybe at the 15th birthday of RuneScape we can do that.)

It is great to see Admac's name here once more, he is one of the most influential people in this game and most respected during my time. Miss him dearly, and wish him the best!

Ariel - While I did mention it at the lunch on Friday ahead of our tour, I am sure it got lost in the process of us being introduced, getting into the Jagex offices and wandering around and the chaos of the event on the weekend.
I can assure you that Jagex is interested in suggestions, and now that I have spoken with quite a few J-Mods (see for example the thread Quick Find just above), I may be able to raise this idea on occasion with them in different ways.
I am not sure when I will get in touch with the specific Mod that I think would be best to bring this up again with, but I know exactly who I should try to raise it with, and they now know me pretty well too.

Bump again. If there is anyone from the old Vanyar clan reading this at all, or even still active, please shoot me a pm. I have a few questions that I would like answers to, since they all deal with activities that went down after I left the game for a few years.
