Vanyar has been an inactive clan for a long time but continues to exist and may be about to return.

Previous clan council seat holders are welcome to rejoin the council. New members may at times be appointed to council on merit or may earn a council seat when clan elections are held (every few months we hope).

The general members have upper and lower level councils. Ranks in the different possible chats for various classes of Elves will develop over time.

The application on page two will be edited soon.

OUR BASIS AND HISTORY:
The War of Wrath, also known as the Great Battle.....
As told by our elders, five centuries after the rising of the sun, Morgoth had defeated all who opposed him and became mighty and uncontested in Middle-earth. The mariner Eärendil, went to Valinor, on behalf of the two kindreds (that of Elves and Men), and asked the Valar (the Powers of Arda) to aid the enthralled Elves and Men of Middle-earth.
The Valar were moved by Eärendil's plea and prepared a great armament. They sent the armies of the Vanyar and the remaining Noldor in Aman to Middle-earth in a mighty host. At the behest of Elwing, their kinswoman, the Teleri carried this host on their ships, but the Teleri remained on their ships as they refused to land. The Host of Valinor (which included the Vanyar) marched through Beleriand and met the forces of Morgoth.
The Host of the Valar (of Valinor) completely defeated the Orc armies of Melkor and destroyed most of the Balrogs. While the Three Houses of Men, the Edain, fought for the Valar, many other Easterling Men fought for Morgoth and were either destroyed or fled to the far eastern parts of Middle-earth.
The Host of the Valar marched north to Angband in pursuit of the remnants of the hosts of Morgoth. There Melkor released his last force, a fleet of winged dragons (that had never been seen before), and they drove the Host of the Valar back. Then Eärendil came with his ship Vingilot, along with the Eagles of Thorondor, Lord of Eagles, and there they contested with the dragons in the air, slaying most of them. Eärendil threw down the mightiest of dragons, Ancalagon the Black, whose fall breaks the towers of Thangorodrim.
"I remember well the splendour of their banners ... It recalled to me the glory of the Elder Days and the hosts of Beleriand, so many great princes and captains were assembled. And yet not so many, nor so fair, as when Thangorodrim was broken..." (Lord of the Rings).

Morgoth was captured and bound again with the chain Angainor. His iron crown is beaten into a collar and the two Silmarils are taken by the Maia Eönwë, the herald of Manwë. Finally, the Valar imprisoned him in the Void.
"Behold, Aulë now gathered six metals, copper, silver, tin, lead, iron and gold, and taking a portion of each made with his magic a seventh which he named therefore tilkal, and this had all the properties of the six and many of its own. Its color was bright green or red in varying lights and it could not be broken, and Aulë alone could forge it. Therefter, he forged a mighty chain, making it of all seven metals welded with spells to a substance of uttermost hardness and brightness and smoothness..." (The Book of Lost Tales, The Chaining of Melkor).
The wreckage of the war was immense. The River Sirion was destroyed. Much of the north of the land west of the Ered Luin laid to waste and sank into the sea. The surviving Elves of Beleriand were bidden by Ëonwë to return with him to the lands of Aman. Most of them did so, but others refused the summons and instead journey eastward where they became lords of the remaining Noldor and Sindar, as well as others in the east such as the Silvan Elves.
Galadriel (also known as the Lady of Light, a royal Elf of both the Noldor and the Teleri, being a grandchild of both King Finwë and King Olwë, and also close kin of King Ingwë of the Vanyar through her grandmother Indis (second wife of Finwë), and Celeborn are among these, as was Gil-galad.

The Elves of Light, were those who had seen the light of the Two Trees of Valinor (they are Telperion and Laurelin, the Silver Tree and the Gold that brought light to the Land of the Valar in ancient times. They were destroyed by Melkor and Ungoliant, but their last flower and fruit were made by the Valar into the Moon and the Sun). They included the Vanyar, Noldor, and those Teleri who passed over Belegaer, as well as the Sindarin king Thingol alone of all his people.
After Morgoth's defeat, those men of the Edain, who fought for the host of the Valar are granted the island land of Andor. Following Elros as King, they found the realm of Númenor. Morgoth's chief servant, Sauron, surrendered to Ëonwë and is summoned to Valinor to receive judgement by the Valar. However, he was unwilling to face the Valar and fled to the east, as did some Dragons, Balrogs and Orcs to trouble the Men and Elves through later ages.

Oh the war is common cry. Pick up you swords and fly. The sky is filled with good and bad that mortals never know. Oh, well, the night is long. The beads of time pass slow. Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow. The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath. The drums will shake the castle wall. The ringwraiths ride in black. Ride on!

THE CURRENT CLAN:
This clan originally formed on March 14, 2006. We broke up two weeks shy of our one year anniversary. At that time, we were ranked #9 of the Top 20 RSB Clans on the ‘RSB Gazette’. But, many members missed the camaraderie, and the fun-loving spirit of this clan. So, we reformed three days after we disbanded and were active for another year or so before falling into inactivity for the last 18 months.

We are an elf themed clan, based on the Tolkien series of books. Vanyar literally means, "Highest of the High Elves" – Light elves, People of the Stars. We attempted to show this in our original logo, which was a light or star burst.
We are non-denominational - follow what Gods you will! Elves were chosen because they are intelligent, tough, magical and immortal.
We have a combat minimum level 60 requirement (all skills will be taken into consideration).
We have had as many as 85 members, but we don’t care if we have as few as five when they truly meet our requirements - because quality over quantity is the rule of the day! We have a strong foundation already in place, with many loyal members to fortify our castle. Our upcoming membership goal with be 40-50 members - current membership is perhaps 8 active players. Recruitment will start after appointment of council .
Technically, we are on a 5-hourly Event, ~34 Events/Week Five Week Cycle and as such we have members all over the world.
Our home world varies depending on the activity, but historically has been world 77.
Official Clan Cape / Costume also varies as needed. For example, we wear Full Tribal for Castlewars sometimes! Clan chat is "Vanyar Elves" and the alternate chat is "Tribalwars54".
And so it is as we march forward, the Vanyar, Highest of the High Elves (the People of The Stars), in further pursuit of our destiny in the lands of Gielinor – the vastness of all that is Runescape.

OUR REQUIREMENTS
What we look for is beyond the mere stats sought by the average Runescape clan. We are looking for like-minded players; for Elves that are mature, serious, and focused on contributing to, and building a successful clan. We seek only motivated players who can give respect as well as be respected, who do not judge others based on combat stats alone, who are active, adventurous, hard working, compassionate, cooperative, and dedicated to seeing to the welfare and success of the group as a whole.
This clan is an ‘Elven Brotherhood’ where loyalty is expected, and nothing less will be tolerated.
You are expected to read this thread through, and post on and bump this thread appropriately.
Mature players have the ability to read and keep themselves informed. It is suggested that you give the discussion thread a ‘run through’ before proceeding into the game. Do not expect other players to do this for you.

NOTE: This is no place for beggars, slackers, and disrespectful players. If you fall into any of these categories, please find a clan better suited for you. Vanyar is not a good home for these immature types!
Our events include everything the game has to offer. We have done the Trawler Game, King Daganoths Hunt, King Black Dragon Hunt, Kalphite Queen Hunt, Mole Hunts, Mock Vanyar v. Vanyar Wars, Group Training Events, Barrows, and of course, Castle Wars and Fight Pits.
Future events as we rebuild will include Stealing Creation, Penguin and Star hunts and more.

As a member, you WILL be expected to attend at least two events per week and you will make every effort to attend open council meetings when they are held.
The usual time for weekly council meetings has been on Saturdays however during this new re-building phase brief meetings will occur prior to attended events.
If you feel you have what it takes to be a high caliber elf – post an application. We have a Senior Division – requirement is high combat and, an Open Division for lower combat and pures.

1) Obey all Jagex rules both in-game and on forums.
2) Respect all leaders and Council members, and other figures of authority, as applicable.
3) Meetings are held in a clan member's house, wherever it may be, and should be attended regularly. Elves should also attend at least two other events per week from the Vanyar Week 5-hourly Events (see below) and offer to lead one event at least every second week.

Our Events List has about 33 events times suggested during each Vanyar Week, and the next week begins two hours later than the previous week.
We hope you will be more active than this with the clan. This is our minimum requirement. If real life needs prevent you from meeting this requirement, make one of your Council members or Clan Leader aware of the problem.
4) Real life needs must be attended to.
If it gets to the point that you can no longer play because of ‘game abuse’ affecting your real life – then your membership has been for nothing!
5) When possible, do your best to help repair or bless a clan member's grave while they attept to recover their stuff! (This goes without saying but it replaces the "no killing a clan member in the wildy" rule.)
Rules for PVP and bounty worlds will be discussed as we re-build, but should be based on not luring a clan mate and then doing them wrong. Honour and respect applies here.

6) Treason will result in an immediate perma-ban from the clan.
Multi-clanners (with the exception of a Bandos and related groups) are committing treason. You cannot be loyal to any group, if you belong to more than one. As PC or Bandos groups are for the sole purpose of playing Pest Control or such, they are allowed. Likewise, Elves are permitted to use (and where appropriate be ranked in) Distraction and Diversion chats or specific minigame chats but you may not join Vanyar and also be a member of a general-activities or combat clan.
Teaming against the clan, or any member of the clan, with outside parties (including former/banned members) is considered treason. Within the clan, trying to get other members to go against the authority of the councils is considered treason.
7) You MUST post a "bump" on the Main Recruit Forum at least three times a week to be considered "active". It is important that the recruit thread is bumped every couple of hours, so try to always bump it a few times when you are able to. (Note: "empty" bumps on *this* thread only - please use the "chat" thread for meaningful posts and such.
Note: the "chat" thread *should not* be "bumped" as such. We do not want to have half-empty pages of empty bumps on the "chat" thread!

It is VERY important to only post applications and acceptances on the Recruitment thread. This is a Jagex rule! All discussion, posts of events, messages and all else should ONLY be posted on the discussion thread.
