It's not entirely surprising that you are still playing this after 10+ years Pax. Has Lord Caesar logged in or not? Although it's good to see TRE is still going I think it is now one of the oldest clans still going.

To answer, in some mild way, why I think people (myself included) continue to play: it's a consistency. People get older and their lives change and nothing seems to stay the same - whether it be friends, experiences, jobs, residence, whatever. However, for some odd reason you can log into this game and still find people you've known for a decade or more. There's a population that stubbornly refuses to die out. So you have something to return to whereas the rest of your life is constantly changing around you. For me it's a hobby and a calm within the storm.

Perhaps that's not the common purpose - but it is mine.
