In times of movement they will get updated quicker but there's not much we can do when people don't report or confirm their trades.

how about once per day at a set time, the FC or CC host a 30min open discussion (or open to ranks) around the current going price of the over max cash items and as a group agree on a range. Surely even soemthing as simple as this would come up with better prices than the current method, and open discussion would mean that manipulation would be limited. Just a suggestion.

It's an idea, but the problem with that is people complain ranks use their subjectivity to influence the prices.

The rationale behind only using trades to create ranges (even when this leads to time lag) is that it's using raw data that people can't influence one way or the other.

It's hard to have a system that is both quick and not open to bias. Join "Pis2ols" FC for all discontinued item price checks.

It's hard to have a system that is both quick and not open to bias. bias still exists this way. People will only report/confirm trades that benefit them, don't kid yourself into thinking this doesn't happen.
The longer R Quark continues to post out of date ranges that provide basically no information, the sooner people stop using r quark for phat prices, as currently R Quark would be better off just not providing any phat information that providing ranges that are so far off the current going prices, this will lead to people being scammed due to a lack of knowledge.
