I really appreciate your comments @ Trips, imo looking away is not a viable solution to the real potential for more of these items to end up with ranges eventually.
"Ranges are inaccurate the instant they are made" I believe this statement by you is at least worth a second consideration on the range items. If Ranges are inaccurate the instant they are made, all I'm saying is why even bother with them. I think we are right in not making ranges for ge items as they are potentially "inaccurate instantly", why can no one at least consider that as soon as we set a range for an item over "max" its just as potentially inaccurate instantly as soon as we create it.
My whole point in this is that the direction we are heading in. The range promotes something that we are simply not able to provide, which is an accurate range. If we don't make a range for ge items because it's inaccurate why would we intentionally create an inaccurate range for the items over max stack, these ranges simply try to control in some way the "range / margin" of these items in at least some unintentional or intentional ways, all I'm saying is that for the same reasons we don't set ranges for ge items we should consider the same reasons for the "over max cash stack" items.
Once again, I want to thank those that have at least weighed in, I have one motive in even talking about this long term direction. The motive is to preserve what I think has been the "glue" that has built "trust" from the community in the fc. I believe whoever started the chat was very wise in seeing the importance of maintaining a pcing fc and not a flipping one as the latter is imo inherently inaccurate, creates room for an increase in "attacks and accusations", and strives to provide something that is impossible to provide (an accurate range).
