I floated around for a bit. I was still severely attached to K0V despite their betrayal, and anyone who was in a clan that great for that long will tell you it's not easy to find a replacement. It leaves a rather large hole in your heart, one I didn't bother trying to fill immediately.

I went around homeless for a while, calling myself the Ghost of Varrock. I was allowed to hang out in the clan chats of allies, and a few of them helped me uphold the ghost image. I would get poisoned on another world in varrock square and just before I died I would hop to world 83 and leave my gravestone in the center of all the K0Vians gathered around. Stupid low level trolling or joking stuff.

I raged on the forums for a while, arguing with Yar or Vep or the other royals. I even went so far as to get mods to go and edit my names out of their posts on the K0V threads. The one that annoyed them the most was the Hall of Fame post, because once a mod edits a forum post only another mod can edit it again. This was back when Jagex was heavily enforcing that naming other players without their consent rule. Lately they've changed it to no naming and shaming, so I can't get away with it if I tried it today =P

Back when I was still a prince I remembered EOF being one of our closest allies. More specifically I remember roleplaying with them on their forum threads and having a good time. I also remembered trying to reach out to them during my reign as king in an attempt to rebuild relations.
So after a short time out of K0V I decided it was time to get a new home and EOF provided the best option simply because of those memories. Though I was resolved not to get into any kind of leadership position. Obviously I failed in that endeavor.

At the time EOF was... a bit of a mess. I'm not trying to diminish Leader Ash 2 who was king at the time or say he was a bad king, he was good at what he did but he could have used more help.
Meetings in particular were a bit on the out of control side. Some weeks we would have a decent meeting, others nobody would be able to get a word in edge wise because some people would refuse to shutup and wait their turn. At least, this is what I experienced. You also have to remember I was new and they ran things different at the time.

At any rate, when I joined I decided to literally do nothing to get myself noticed. I was just going to be another member who showed up to events and chatted on occasion.
This lasted all of a month before old habits kicked in and I joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In an unfortunate twist of events I was assigned as the diplomat to K0V...
I say it like that but in truth I volunteered for the position. I knew the administration, I knew what they were like, I knew how they ran things and what their habits were, from my perspective I was the best man for the job and I wanted to help the EOF/K0V relationship get back to what I remembered it as back in when I was prince. Also few people will actually believe this but I didn't actually harbor a grudge against K0V for what happened for nearly as long as many suspect.

My first order of business as the new diplomat was that of any self respecting diplomat's, I introduced myself on their forums. I was actually quite polite and professional but one of their members (won't name names due to my reconciling with him a couple years later) decided to pick a fight with me. I told him I wasn't interested in a fight and left the situation.
Well Yar couldn't have me being the good guy so she told Ash that I was picking a fight on her forums and I was subsequently removed as their diplomat...

(We are now getting into where it sounds like I'm glorifying myself unfortunately =\ )

I came to get Minister of Foreign Affairs after Mac was promoted to Royal Advisor. He was one step ahead of me from when I joined to when he left.
Simply put he advised Ash a lot, so naturally Ash gave him the official position leaving the foreign affairs spot open.

As for the relationship between EOF and K0V, that was already strained. I know it's common belief that if nothing else I encouraged the rift between us, but K0V did that on their own without my help. I wasn't even the first to suggesting severing the alliance, I actually campaigned against it. I know it's futile to convince anyone on the matter but I wanted to keep the alliance going and repair it if possible.
I still wanted to try and rebuild the alliance like it was back in the old days, always having each others back both in roleplay and in politics.
However Yar wanted nothing of the sort. Every time K0V would cause us grief, whether it be an insult or flame at an event, crashing our private events, or posting on our forums, the K0V royals did nothing. Yar did nothing.

Things didn't get better until I was already Emperor, but at the time I still had no intention of getting that far.
