Dan resigned after a few months and Kv was promoted to King either the same day of Bard's resignation or the day after per Dan's request because back in the day, we actually promoted men to the rank of King in a timely manner. Kv was a great king for the first couple of months and we didn't have any princes or princesses for a little while because we didn't have any suitable candidates. At one point, he said that he wanted to remove a few names from the Hall of Fame because they were traitors to KOV now or weren't "up to s(n)u(f)(f)", basically. He gave a couple of examples; the only two I can remember now are Dasz ("traitor" example), and someone (forget the name) who donated some money to KOV and that's all they ever did for the clan. I believe originally, he wanted to remove 3-4 names, and later it turned out to be more than that, but I could be wrong. I had been in KOV for barely a year and had never heard of anyone on the list. Kv assured me that since he had been in the clan for much longer than I had, he knew these people and had a more superior point of view. He had always been great up to this point - I trusted him. I had no idea that we would face that much backlash, and if I had known, I would have never have agreed to it. I stood by our decision because a royal team needs to act in unison if it is to be effective, and I didn't understand the consequences of the decision until further on. I later restored the Hall of Fame after Kv was demoted because I felt that the original decision that I had agreed to was wrong, and was apologizing for my own mistake.

That whole situation definitely made me less naive, and I never let myself be manipulated like that again, so it made me a better leader.

The Coalition wasn't our fault. At all. I was on leave at a concert and got texted telling me to look at the thread, and had to wait until the next day to really do anything and the issue was out of control the moment it started. We never really knew why they declared war. They said it was because we weren't being good allies, but they talked to Bard when he was King and Ryan asked KOV to leave EOF alone for a while and that's what we were doing. A war never happened, and it was one hell of a crazy time. We got warring clans to help us and turned some of their allies away. The whole situation was ridiculous and stupid and nothing amounted from it.

I don't know what triggered in Kv after the Coalition, but he started acting..differently. He would openly flame and harass members in the cc or in public chat, like on the Citadel. He no longer wanted to negotiate. He wanted his way or the highway. He stopped being a team player, and it made him a bad King and the whole clan noticed. That was in itself the biggest affect the coalition had on KOV: it ruined Kv.

That moves into my next question. Certainly one of the most historically significant actions you carried out as Queen was the demotion of Kv. Why did you do it and do you still think it was the right decision almost two years later?

We demoted him as a team because he refused to act like a King. He was selfish, self-centered, a bully, and most of the clan no longer enjoyed having him as King. He was holding the entire clan back by not allowing people to be promoted just because he didn't like them and would sometimes harass members ingame while they were doing tasks like capping for the clan. I spoke to him many times about his behavior, trying to figure out what happened and how he could return to being his former self, but they all ended poorly. The royal team was dysfunctional because of him and it got to the point where people kept bringing up his behavior in the cc, at events, and at meetings, culminating to one point where I held a meeting and it turned into people asking for him to be demoted or resign. His behavior had been going on for about a month and showed no signs of improvement, so the royal team had a meeting about it but he wasn't online at the time. I texted him and asked him to get online, but he didn't answer. We decided that, unanimously as a team, the best thing that we could do for our clan was to demote him, despite it being controversial. We did just that, and needless to say he wasn't happy about it and a few clan members weren't either, but the drama died down within the week. I don't regret the decision, but I do wish we had spoken to him one last time as an entire royal team to ask him to get better or resign, and then if he didn't do that, demote him. We made the right decision, but didn't execute it well and definitely could have handled the situation better.

Many critics have alleged that you merely removed Kv to consolidate your power in the Kingdom. They also maintain that you only wanted to reform the MOV to increase the likelihood of your Hall of Fame nomination. Do you think that either of these arguments are factual?

I never understood the whole "consolidate my power" argument. There was no power to consolidate. I was the top rank of the clan with no upwards mobility or anyone to please. The royal team didn't demote Kv because he opposed me, we demoted him because he was negatively affecting our kingdom with no hope of him turning himself around. It's not like the next king after Kv was someone who was my supporter -- Arios was a very neutral party and was just as likely to not get along with me as Kv, except Arios and I got along pretty well.

I wanted to reform the MOV because it was dead and I had an idea to make it less dead. I assumed that 1) I would never be nominated for the Hall of Fame because of the whole removing names thing, and 2) that if I was nominated, it would be for my past actions and not the ones I made 2-3 weeks before resigning. If you were to ask a bunch of people from w83 on what they would remember me for, I doubt anyone would say it was for the MOV. I'm not remembered for it, it wasn't permanent, and obviously wouldn't have worked even if I was trying to "increase my likelihood for a Hall of Fame nomination." I honestly reformed the MOV because it had always had activity issues and needed a stronger purpose than it had then. I was trying to benefit KOV, not myself.
