Dayan would look down to the chest and then look back to Sylvia. “What I have brought is something that The Order of the Damned would kill me if they knew I decided to bring it here at such great risk. Not to mention the thought of outsiders laying eyes on it.” He waved his hand over the chest and a soft purple glow emitted from the chest. As it did, the locks snapped open and the markings on the wooden chest too began to glow slightly before dimming away. He opened the lid of the chest and inside was a dark purple leathered book with intricate designs on its face, in the middle was an onyx gem that was carved into the shape of a skull. “Sylvia, what I have here is the Book of the Dead. An ancient book that has been held within Menaphos for centuries from what I have been told.” He picks up the book and hands it over to Sylvia.
Sylvia ran her hand down the spine of the book before gently pulling the cover back. “And what information does this book contain, exactly?” She flipped through the pages, stopping to look at illustrations within the book. “I have been told that Menaphos holds ancient secrets about different paranormal phenomenon and magics, but I have yet to find out what exactly that means.”
He would look down for a quick moment before continuing, “It is filled with centuries of knowledge about the dead and pretty much anything paranormal. You will find rituals, spells, explanations about the afterlife, the undead and oddly their anatomy. And more sinister subjects such as curses and such.” He then looked towards Xeph, “Even of other races such as vampyres and werewolves. It would seem it’s knowledge expands beyond the borders of the desert region.
