Invasion of Catherby

It was a warm sunny day in the town of Catherby. Joey, a small boy the age of 12, was playing a game of hide and seek with his friends. They were good at this game but Joey knew a spot on the west side of town they favoured and if he got high enough by the farm he could see everything.

When Joey reached the top he surveyed the lands around him. That's when he noticed something coming down the road from the direction of Seer's Village. It looked like a large group of people, but no one ever traveled the road in such numbers. As the group got closer Joey stared in amazement. It was not just a group, but a whole army worth of people. Mesmerized, Joey watched the army approach and with each passing moment his amazement grew. Most of the people were not human. He recognized gnomes, he had met one staying on the mountain, but there were people he had never seen before. They wore mainly green and had shiny blue weapons and pointed ears. They looked like elves but Joey knew that was just his imagination.. he stopped believing those bedtime stories when he turned 9! The town was in chaos, townsfolk grabbing whatever they can to arm themselves and block the path of the incoming army.

"I have to find dad!" Joey said to himself, finally snapping out of his daze. Running down the mountainside Joey ran to the coastline where his dad would be fishing, Joey skid to a stop as he passed the docks. Large boats silently brushed upon the docks and huge scary bearded men jumped off the boats and began running into town. By the time the rest of the townsfolk noticed the threat behind them, it was already too late.

An impressive looking elf stepped forward and approached the people. "My name is Grand Elder Thorn, leader of the Kingdom of Isafdar. From this day on, Catherby is part of my kingdom. In return I promise you protection and prosperity. We have come to bring harmony and balance to the people of the east.

=+=Land Claim =+=
Clan: The Fremennik Tribes
Land: Fremennik Isles Tundra
Access to Land: Neitiznot

News has arrived from the island of Neitiznot that the Chieftain presiding over the region, Godkin of the Lykkelig Beruset, has managed to negotiate for cooperation between his men and those of the neighboring island, Jatizso, to finally get control over the troll-infested tundras to their north. This has catalyzed a new period of cooperation between the two islands, enough so that settlers from Neitiznot have been making their way into Jatizso and bringing new life to their old Miner's Guild, tapping into the island's underground ore deposits in ways they haven't managed for over a generation.

We would like to use 7 Energy to convert 5 Fish into 5 Wood and 2 Fish into 2 Ore.
We would like to build a Mining Guild on Jatizso, permanently increasing its Ore production from 9 to 14. (Pay 20K, 20 Wood, 20 Ore, 10 Fish, and 5 Runes.)
We would like to Feed the People of Jatizso, increasing their Ore production by 5 for this week.

Flight of the Lost

Darius continued his studies in the crater. He messed with the unstable energy, exposing it to different types of solutions, holding it over fire to see how it would react. He could not come to any conclusions. For a moment, he was at a loss.

Then, the world began to shake, just for a moment. The ground underneath the General's feet trembled, and he had to plant his blade into the ground to catch his balance. He looked around, unaware of what was going on. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, past the quake.

His commorb began to glow, and the voice of Kaz Uthor crackled through. "General Verus! Kelzig has gone mad. He's passed fear and seems to have lost his normal consciousness--". The image of Kaz came through, and he could see the Dragon in the background burning a gatekeeper, charring his armour and nearing his skin. He could make out that the beasts eyes had become a solid red, out of his ordinary reptile like eyes.

"--You mus -- - --- Kelzig will be subdue--- - -". There was a disturbance. A rustling could be heard, and Darius grabbed his blade, taking guard. "General Verus... Are you alright? Do you need backup?" Uthor whispered. "I'll be fine, Kaz, I've dealt w--". Before he could finish his sentence, a rift opened up behind him. The heat was intense, and he watched as anima crawled towards it. Behind him, he could hear the crackle as a tree fell over, and as he turned around, he was bashed on the head and knocked unconscious. His limp body was lifted by something Kaz could not make out. Whatever it was, it was in a hurry. The rift closed, and the connection between the commorbs was silenced.

General Verus was gone, and there was no trace of where he would end up.

The Call for a Hunt

Brothers! Kingdoms and Tribes, nations of Gielinor. In the midst of the night, General Verus has been taken from us. I, Kaz Uthor, of the Black Knights, call for the different nations to set aside their differences and face a new threat to Gielinor.

General Verus's fears were not unfounded. Our own Kelzig has been victimized by this plague that affects the Dragons of Gielinor, and this affliction is worsening. They have transcended from fear to submission to this unknown. In the midst of their seizure, General Verus of New Misthilan was taken, and drawn into a rift by a figure shaded by the smoke of the rift.

I urge each and every one of you to continue his research. There is a link between the anima and these rifts that appear in the world. As these rifts come to the surface, the anima becomes momentarily unstable, and we cannot discern why. Nations alike, I ask that you research the anima, search for a potential shift in its balance.

Leave no stones unturned. Anything that shares a connection to the Anima of Gielinor is a source for this study. If we can pinpoint the true cause of the instability in the anima, we may be able to create a rift of our own to the same location, and potentially find the source causing the Cruelty of the Draconic Race.

All research delivered to the Black Knights fortress will be due for a large cash reward, two thousand gold for measure, and two allotments of energy or runestones. The quicker we can understand the anima, its connection to these rifts, and the connection to the Draconic Race, the quicker we can prevent Gielinor from a potential war against the dragons, and save ourselves from the fate of General Verus, should he be lost to this unknown.

Kaz Uthor, The Exalted One

How to Contribute

> General Verus is in danger. So is Gielinor. The only research ties they have found is that the anima seems to become more vibrant as the dragons have their induced panic attacks. The condition is worsening. Discover the link and write out a document of your studies to be sent to the Black Knight's Fortress. You have a week to Contribute to this Phase. The rewards are 2k and either 2 energy or 2 runes [dependent of your choice].

Bellatrix gathered a small cadre of her Vyres and informed them of the plan to bring Burgh De Rott into the fold. She was met with looks of skepticism due to the previous “arrangement” of the Vyres and Humans. Bellatrix was unsure of this herself but an order is an order. Lord Artemis had requested it so it needed to be done.

She took to the sky with her group and they made their way to the outskirts of the Burgh. As she landed, she seen several human children run away at the presence of the Vyres. They were most likely afraid of the blood tithes. Bellatrix sighed and made her way towards the dilapidated town.

Shortly after however, they were met with resistance from some of the few remaining members of the Myreque. “Halt fiends! You have no place here! Return to where you came from or meet our blades!” Shouted one of the men.

Bellatrix’s Vyres stood ready to attack. Bellatrix shook her head and told the Vyres to stand down. She responded to the man, “Peace, we mean you no harm. I come on orders from Demonlord Artemis Bloodsbane to speak with you of forming an alliance.” She reached into a satchel bag that was attached to her belt and produced a letter with the demonlord’s insignia on in.

The man that spoke grabbed the letter with resistance and read over it. “Very well, you may enter.” Said the man and nodded to the 3 others that were present with him. He handed the Vyre the letter back and proceeded to move out of the way. Bellatrix entered the Burgh with her group.

Many of the townsfolk recoiled into their home, some stood ready to fight if the needed to. Bellatrix made her way into the center of the town and with a shout asked to see the town’s leader. There was a commotion from a far-off building that was slightly better kept then the rest and then a woman appeared from the doorway. The woman made her way towards the Vyre and greeted her cautiously.

Bellatrix stated the reason she was here and that they needed to talk in private. Elisabeta looked at her with a look of disbelief but ushered her towards the building she had come from. Bellatrix’s Vyres followed behind them and waited outside while the two discussed.

After some time, the two women made their way outside again and walked towards the original meeting place in the center of town. “Gather around citizens of Burgh De Rott!” Bellatrix shouted to beckon the town’s dwellers closer. “Today, we have made an alliance of Humankind and Vyrekind alike. While our past is filled with hardship and dread due to the rule of Lord Drakan, we hope to change that. This alliance is the beginning of that change. You do not need to worry about the blood tithe any longer as we have found other sources to keep ourselves sustained. Also, we will be providing the citizens of this town a workforce help rebuild and provide better living conditions. Lastly, we will be providing a ship to aid transport between our lands and provide goods between us.”

As she finished her speech, she noticed the countenance of the people change. Instead of being fearful, most showed signs of relief. Others still looked unsure, only time could tell if this alliance would remain.

With the alliance complete, she turned to Elisabeta and bid her farewell. Her and her Vyres took to the skies to return to Darkmeyer to report the news to the Demonlord.
