As his last act he appointed a Vampyre by the name of Bellatrix Nightshade to govern and maintain the region. His task complete, he and his army returned to the castle to await their master’s commendations.

Once Cain could see the grim scene that was the battlefield outside the world gate, his optimism instantly vanished, popping like a bubble. The ground was strewn with the bodies of the fallen. The minions of the Korangar could be seen everywhere, with a combination of elven and human warriors from across Gielinor desperately trying to keep them at bay.

Why haven't they cast the spell yet? Cain couldn't help but wonder. Surely, one of the champions should have been able to.

Cain rushed to the command area, where saw Grand Elder Travis Thorn issuing orders to his troops. It was here that he realized the answer to his own question - those that had entered the World Gate to engage the Korangar were lying down, incapacitated. At least they will survive, Cain thought, searching for something to be happy for. But they are in no condition to fight, at least, not for a while.

Travis turned to face Cain. "We will need your help, Cain. I know you had hoped for someone else to cast the Dream spell, but, as you can see, there is no one else. I will send my best warriors to accompany you. This may be our only chance."

"But - " Cain tried to object.

"No! Enough of my people - Gielinor's people ," Travis quickly corrected himself, "have died trying to defeat this monster. We will face it now."

He's right, Cain realized. "So be it," he said.

Cain looked around at the warriors who would accompany him. He wished that there were more people coming with him. It would be ideal to have someone that already went, like Artemis, Bazjunior, or Xul...Xul...where is Xul? This made Cain think.

And where on Gielinor is Godkin? Didn't he say he was coming here? Cain still had Godkin's coupon for one favor. This would have been the ideal time to use it, if Godkin was here... Cain Izrail |

The armies of Gielinor had cleared a path to the World Gate. The gate emitted a pulsing, eeerie green light that made Cain feel uneasy. And Cain already felt uneasy.

Some elven scouts entered the portal first and cleared the way through the Korangar's minions. Cain watched in utter horror as wave after wave of them crashed upon his protectors, and while he could try to help them with an occasional Lunar spell, he felt utterly powerless as he watched people - elves, Fremmenik, men from the East and the West - die just for a chance of this spell working.

Soon, they came upon the massive beast that was the Korangar. It was a massive aqueous beast that matched every description of it, and, strangely enough, was pretty close to the depiction of it that Cain had seen in the Dream World. For a moment, Cain could do nothing but stare at the beast, trying to comprehend the bizarre nature of its existence. It took him a while, but he did notice the various burn marks, gashes, and cuts on its exterior, and that its every movement seemed to cause it pain, as if it was suffering from some sort of po-

A quick smack to the face was delivered to Cain by one of his Fremennik protectors. "Don't just stare at the thing - DO SOMETHING!" the man yelled, before entering the fray of combat against the beast.

Snapping back to reality, Cain quickly grabbed some of his runes. He closed his eyes, breathing heavily. I hope that crazy-powerful Lunar mage was right. The runes in his hand turned to dust, and Cain could feel their power surge through his hands, giving him a warmth and confidence he didn't often feel. He wove a dream that the Korangar would find enticing - a dream of an endless sea, a boundless ocean, where the Korangar would grow to a being of immense power, and could swim forever...

Cain was afraid to open his eyes. Did it work? My spells don't always work.. But with a loud thud , the Korangar fell to the ground in a deep slumber. Cain Izrail |

Once the Korangar was put to sleep, a wave of confusion spread out among the Korangar's minions on both sides of the World Gate. It was actually quite an amusing scene. Since they were unsure what to do, having free thought for the first time, some of them attacked each other instead of their opponents. Some of them took out their rage on inanimate objects, like rocks, walls, or trees. And some of them just stood perfectly still, as if they were seeing the world for the first time.

Outside the World Gate, the forces defending Gielinor quickly realized the difference in the minions, and pressed the attack. It only took a short time for the organized, coordinated, and skilled armies of Gielinor to defeat a mindless rabble of minions.

Inside the World Gate, Cain's protectors became the Korangar's slayers. With the beast fully incapacitated, all it took was a coordinated strike from all of them at the beast's vulnerable area. At long last, the Korangar was no more. What was once a quiet, eerie plane became illuminated with the vibrant cheers and yells of the victorious that echoed throughout.

We are in debt to those who risked so much to put the beast in this state, Cain realized. The spell would not have worked if the Korangar was not tired. Cain shuddered to think about what would have happened if the spell failed, or if he arrived too late. With his optimism returning to him, he realized that it was best not to dwell on these things.

Yet...at the same time, there was something weird about this plane. Or...maybe it wasn't the plane. The feeling was hard to describe for Cain, but he felt like something...dark...was watching them.

The party turned to leave through the World Gate, as its eerie green light beckoned them to the now-safe and welcoming world of Gielinor. Ah well, Cain thought to himself, It's probably just my nerves acting up. I mean, after this, what else could possibly go wrong?

With the news of the Korangar being sung asleep, the Feyrks decide to leave the camp for nature to reclaim once again, packing all twelve of their longships and returning home to the island of Vestrbjarg.

Spring is here. We find ourselves at the end of our amusements.

We have heard many thing from you. We are very excited that you decided to apply AOS to the w103 community. We will be voting yes, but before so would it possible for a short summary of AOS's backstory, like what is the beginning chapter for the Aegis of Saradomin. I hope I am not asking for to much here but it would be amazing to see where your story begins :)
