An Address to the Leaders

He had come to a conclusion. A realization that the world around him was becoming increasingly small. In the silence of his chambers, he wrote some letters, working his way into the papers before eventually stamping them with the seal of Varrock.

In the daytime, General Verus gathered some men. To Azakul, his right hand, he handed a letter and told him to go to the Kingdom of Isafdar, and as Azakul asked questions, there were no answers that he would provide, leaving the Guthixian to ponder on the reasoning behind it all.

The barbarian he fought in the village then came forth. General Verus instructed him to head to the Fremmenik Tribes, informing him only that a friendly face may ease the minds of the folk who lived in a hunting ground. The barbarian, holding his stomach, which was still healing, looked at him, both afraid and in admiration. Without any further questions, he set off for the tribes.

He then would bring forth Rnoy Samuele Neverwinter. He would instruct him to head into Morytania, to speak to Artemis to arrive and accept the letter. "Do I have to?" Rnoy would respond. "I believe that a being of familiar strength would be best to communicate." Verus would retort. Rnoy would question the statement, to which Darius would ask if he had any reason to question his strength. He sent Rnoy off, who then mumbled to himself over the nature of the task.

Finally, General Verus would head to Sarim, the last place he needed to head being The Empire of Wushanko. He would climb aboard one of their trade ships, coming to the Embassy, and he would wait in the stores of the ship until it sailed off. He glanced over the sealed letter, wondering how his plan would pan out.

From the Verus Estate of Varrock

You are cordially invited to the Estate of Verus for a feast worthy of Kings. It is requested that you show up bringing your most honoured representatives, and due to the nature of the meeting, likely should have someone hold your place in your positions of leadership for the time being that enacts your travel here.

It is to my understanding that as time shall pass, the borders between our lands shall grow closer, and our passage shall become thinner and thinner. It is well known that the Verus name is mostly represented by my wife, Queen Sora Verus of Varrock, and little is known less of each and everyone's intentions.

Attendees may feel free to stay within my estate for the duration of the feast, as the doors to the Estate of Verus will not close during the nights. With the recent fall of The Silver Vigil, it is of the utmost importance that our nations gather for a discussion of terms.

We shall await your arrival at our Estate.

Signed,
General Darius Verus, Representative of Varrock
Queen Sora Verus of the Kingdom of Varrock

Note: this lore takes place at a different time than the lore that Dayan posted where Cain is on Tuai Leit.

Cain departed the boat near Eagle's Peak, but as he looked ahead, he saw the long trek that still kept him from the battlefield.

I was going to tell Godkin, but he ran off too quickly, Cain thought to himself. If only I had a way to tell Travis, Artemis, or Dayan the information from a distance...

And that's when it hit him. The Lunar spellbook has a Remote Contact spell.

And Cain could have just used it the moment he learned the information.

Well, hopefully the world hasn't ended because of my stupidity... Cain thought to himself, as he drew the runes to cast the spell. A bulb of light appeared before Cain, and he tried to concentrate on someone...

"Who is this?! Speak quickly," a gruff voice demanded of Cain.

"Oh...is this Travis Thorn? I think I have contacted the wrong - "

"HOW DARE YOU!! I am holding the very fabric of the universe together from the center of the Abyss! What insolence! I demand to know who this is!" It turns out that Cain had accidentally contacted the Dark Mage in the Abyss.

With that, Cain terminated the link. "Second time's the charm, so they say," Cain breathed, as he tried casting the spell again.

"This is the Grand Elder. To whom am I speaking with?" Travis asked.

"Yes, I got the right person this time!" Cain exclaimed.

"What do you mean?" Travis questioned.

"Never mind. I know a vulnerability of the Korangar. If you can disrupt it by putting it to sleep with Lunar Magic, then it won't be able to exert control over its minions...."

Cain explained in detail the plans to Travis. It seemed like the Korangar was sufficiently weakened, and that a brave mage could attempt to put it to sleep...

The sky was crystal blue. No, it was purple. Actually, was that just purple clouds? Maybe the sky was purple and the clouds were blue. It was all confusing.
Xul tried to barley open his eyes, but they quickly closed again as his headache grew stronger. His body felt weak and soft, but inside he felt a spark of something he had never felt before. Xul thought of the fresh air around him, as he exhaled deeply. The air was terrible. He smelt death and decay.
Was he dead? Was this energy, yet this weakness how it was to be dead? Xul thought of his use of dark magic, when his friend had been injured on the battlefield.
How much time had passed since then?
Was he alive?
His spells had dealt a lot of damage.
More, I can be so much more...
Did he say that to himself?
Xul tried lift up his upper body, as he blindly grabbed after his crystal staff.
Where was his staff?
Another headache. Purple hay? No, was that black hay? Xul drifted off again…
Ok good luck

“It shall be attended to at once, Lord Bloodsbane.”, Corvus Umbranox said as he bowed down on one knee. Slowly rising to his feet as he was dismissed, he strode across the opulent throne room, adorned with resplendent fineries in various shades of purple and gold. Heading out of the large doors barring entrance to the throne room, he proceeded towards the barracks to acquire a regiment of vampyres for the mission he was to undertake. He understood his place in the order of things and intended to do what he was commanded, take Meiyerditch in the name of Lord Bloodsbane.

Leaving the next morning for a journey into the human lands, Lord Bloodsbane would depend on Corvus to keep an eye on things and to keep the underlings in line. Corvus knew that his leadership would be tested and he would not fail his master, for he would not wish to repeat his past experiences. Turning to a nearby guard, he said “Assemble the Doombringer Regiment at once.”, the demon quickly moved to complete his orders.

As Corvus stood before his assembled army he spoke in a loud commanding voice, “You are assembled here to carry out the orders of our Lord. You are not to harm any of the inhabitants, but they are also not allowed to resist. Resistance will be met with force. Disobey these commands and you will be flayed alive. Go now and bring glory to Lord Bloodsbane!”. The troops began the short march towards Meiyerditch, grumbling and clanging as armies tend to do. Upon reaching the derelict city, the army announced its intentions to the inhabitants of the city. There were few who resisted and those who did were quickly dispatched. Soon all that was left was to wait for Corvus to arrive and officially take control of the territory.

As Corvus arrived, he saw that everything had gone per plan and that the city had been taken with little resistance. He dispatched a contingent of vampyres to meet with the vampyres already in residence, with explicit orders to either bring them into the army or banish them forever. Almost all of them joined immediately as they recognized Lord Bloodsbane’s power and ability to take control over Morytania. The ones who refused were forced out or killed outright. The ones who remained were tasked with returning the humans to a nearby human settlement with the understanding that they were not to harm the humans in any way, or it would be very painful for them upon their return.

When this task was finally finished three days later, Corvus stepped out of his tent to survey that which he had wrought. Derelict buildings and crumbling walls would take time and money to repair, for if war was brought they would not be caught unprepared. As his last act he appointed a Vampyre by the name of Bellatrix Nightshade to govern and maintain the region. His task complete, he and his army returned to the castle to await their master’s commendations.
