Buff we hunted for Sag Short bows for a couple hours. We got Skeletal Trio 3 times and each time they dropped entgallow or gc shortbows. Then everyone had most of their fancy new binds, and the only people wanting to hunt are people that want the bow. Dster got tired of doing floors where a lotto would be needed for the bow. She's just doing floors normally until she finds one. It's what we often say when people can't get a hunt going. It works well for p2h's. Not so well for Sag Short bows :P

EOC is changing weekly. Obviously the tier of weapon was not so important last week. This week it's more important. Next week it could be that pure mage is the way to go. I think two styles is still a good thing to have. I still use my bow in floors. If EOC stays this way then yes we might need to change our rules yet again, but I think it's a bit premature to make that decision especially when another piece of armor is not entirely needed.

Speaking of EOC and changing rules...we decided to give hoods a chance. We never really tested them in EOC and relied on assumptions that they would function the same as before. As they aren't that big of a deal it seems not a big deal either side we pick so we're going with the more open side and allow them any time. Let's see how it goes.

Out of curiousity, what's the percentage of dg4fun members that *don't* have maxed combat stats(at least as far as the three main combat styles go - prayer and summoning can be excluded for this purpose)?

I would suspect that it's rather small - certainly not the majority.

This means that the average dg4fun member actually will see a significant boost in efficiency from having access to two styles in a floor, so there's no reason to be surprised at that rule. Hell, Dster even claims increased accuracy against certain monsters with a lower tier bow - it's an advantage even for the few who aren't completely maxed.

On a sadder note, I suppose I'll have to unbind my hex if I ever come back... defensive stats are, as far as I can tell, all but pointless in dungeoneering, particular health on an item that will not be in use constantly. Why they made the change from treating the hex as a very powerful offensive item to a very mediocre defensive one I'll never guess, but I suppose they changed alot of items with well known niches in the previous combat system...

@ Sereg, the hex's attack speed makes it the best bow in dungeoneering. Also it has defense and a nice lp boost over the sag short. It's easily superior for ranging which is so far superior to all other combat styles. Keep the hex.

Also I had 88 ranged until a couple months after I got 120. I currently still don't have 99 magic yet, but I did get 99 ranged and a hex at some point. Also I finally got 99 prayer. When keying its nice knowing you can get every prayer door since you can't pot prayer it will never be a pot door.

So, a very small group then.

Not to turn this into question and answer time for Sereg not knowing EoC, but... does Divi's post mean the hex fires faster then a shortbow on the same setting now?
