Lol didn't expect you guys to take what I said seriously to the point where it would start a discussion.

I was just pointing out the ironic nature of the page prior to my post given some of the conversations that have taken place in the past, and hinting at the fact that it's silly to require any such rules when the same logic used to defend having the rule could be applied just as easily (and probably more effectively) to the opposite side of the argument.

Perhaps I'll simply be more clear next time.

Hi

I don't think the trialer rank is working. My idea bronze star being for 120 dgers or 200m xp or whatever. The selection process is just to arbitary. I can honestly say I tried not to show any bias but the only people I voted for were my friends. Now there doesn't seem to be any voting.

Another issue I would like to raise is new people joining the fc. Most don't tend to stick around for very long. Is this a new trend? I don't know. I always thought dg4fun was a nice and relaxed community when I was new.

The self selecting part of the trialer rank is not working, but I think the main purpose of the trialer rank, trialing new people and being a role model, is working. How people become trialers isn't very important in the long run so long as they are good choices. We wanted to give you guys more say in the matter because people always accuse us generals of being biased. But it looks like people think we are less likely to be biased than the trialers. We'll just keep on picking the new trialers then :) .

The conversion rate of new people to dg4fun has always been about 50%. It's just more noticeable now because we have fewer new people. Also, they used to get ranked within hours of being in the fc so that was misleading. Many of them did not stick around after getting ranked. Now almost all the people who do get ranked stick around.

Try to make new people feel really welcome. When you see a new smiley say hi to them. Ask them if they want to floor. Stuff like that makes someone feel welcome. If you are new and come into a fc and people ignore you and talk about comp cape for hours without asking if you want to floor, you're more likely to just slip away.

Wanted to write a quick post regarding aspiring Keyers. Just a checklist of sorts to make sure you're doing everything within your power to get us to notice you.

- Make sure we are in your floors.

We can't notice you if we're not there! Some of us are 200m xp already and want to give other members a spot if they need xp, but simply requesting us to join your floor can oftentimes make all the difference. The more floors we do with you, the better we will be able to evaluate you.

- Communicate, communicate, communicate.

You can have all the dg knowledge in the world, but we're not going to know that unless you communicate things which imply it. When we floor with you, it should be very clear that you are aware of everyone's gates and what should be happening (even if everything doesn't go according to plan). The more you are guiding your team with communication, the smoother the floor goes, and we can more accurately gauge who is ready to become a Keyer. Simply doing fast floors is not enough.

- Be consistent.

Someone who demonstrates these things at all times is going to be preferred over somebody who doesn't. Don't just do these things when you think you are being evaluated, do them all the time!

Also, do not hesitate to ask a ranked Keyer for more specific advice on how to improve your dungeoneering. We are always happy to help :)

We've officially made the trialer role chosen by generals since you guys think that would be better. Always feel free to PM one of us if you have a suggestion for someone who would make a good trialer. If we don't have any objections, we'll make them one.

I like group hugs!

We made the dungeoneering requirement 90 instead of 100. At 90 you get 4 binds, so that keeps everyone on an even level on that respect. Hopefully we'll get more new recruits out of this. Plus they get to stick around even longer! We'll keep a watch and see how things go.
