I don't know much about Discord to run lines instead of in our fc. Since I only use the Quark's Channel to read memes and see what's up, I don't feel like I would enjoy logging in to see hats pcs there and only there.
It's effort to log in on another social media, and people are lazy. And to report a trade would be even more tiring. We would also have way less activity in my opinion, since we're just getting out of the game. You create a Discord for games to talk between mates, or between a small community, in a team. And I don't like this would fit for R Quark.

I might be wrong though, maybe a vast part of RS players use already Discord for some other games and might be ready to use it for Rs as well.

I support hats to come back into fc, I really feel like they bring people in and out of fc, they renew our "helpers' database". I think they should just come with something like : purp around 6600 (as seen in Scope's latest update).

Maybe hats: $/$/$/$/$/$ refer to scopes post for more info,(where $ is the weighted average) but as always it could he up to the pcer as to whether they want hats or not. Also I think we should try a new ranking system. We could implement at the next rank session (if people actually show up lol) would be a good start leading into the summer to promote activity.

I mentioned something similar to the average hat price, so I agree. Any idea what you want to do with the ranks? It’s probably best if we have some idea going in or if we move it to the clan after the actual session itself. This sounds like something that would drag on for a while if we kept it in the friends chat.

I won’t be voting in the next session since I wouldn’t know who to vote for. If I don’t work that day though I’ll definitely be there. I should be more active starting next month since I’ll only have one class. I was never here.

It's a system where ranks tell an admin what contributions they've done in the fc in the past month and admins would then vote among themselves to determine if that activity is worthy of a rank up.

Multiple months at keep could deem a drop in rank, not responding in a 10-15 day period after a month of the previous review would be a rank down, and reporting activity above others at a similar rank would be a rank up.

The system would promote self achievement and would reflect individual work ethic rather than what the few ranks at the rank session think their activity is/was. Obviously if you were to lie or exaggerate your activity, the admin team would catch on and demote you one or more ranks, but the system itself would allow people to be ranked up on their own time rather than during a monthly session.

If the system doesn't work I'd be fine with going back to the standard rank session but we've had the same system for the past 7 years and seems to have gone a bit stale.

Only thing I'm unsure of is if I should reset everyone's rank to 2 or 3 stripe so that it's easier/fair to gauge activity, or just change the system while leaving ranks and people who are coasting will eventually even out in a few months.

Interesting. Now, who exactly is an admin? Isn’t it mostly you and Bond now? I’m just asking since you said admins would need to vote among themselves. What’s the minimum amount of admins that would need to agree/be present? Would it be through PM, on here, or either one?

I’d be for resetting everyone. It would be the quickest way to see results. You could always ask for input though from all the Bronze+ ranks to see what everyone thinks. Most stars have been around for a while so it might be helpful to get some input before making a change that will affect all of them the most (if you haven’t already).

Honestly, even if none of this works out at least it seems like we are getting a bit more active with how the chat works. We’ve had more input on here in the past couple of weeks than we’ve had in a good while. I call that a win. I was never here.

As of now it seems like just bond and I. If Lee wanted to join the fc again he could also participate in rankings.

What I was thinking is we have a private spreadsheet shared among admins that basically book keeps everyone's activity levels, the date of rank update and a place for each admin to +/-/keep.

I would like to have an odd number of active admins so that the voting would never result in a tie thus delaying someone from potentially ranking up.

Thought so. That could work as long as the admins are active enough to monitor things. It would make sense if there was an odd number.

I know you’ve mentioned admins, which is understandable, but you might need extra help. What if you involve the captains too? It could be temporary until Lee decides whether he wants to be part of the chat or not. This would probably mean you’d have to leave the ranks as is though. I was never here.

That may work, but as more people are allowed to vote, the popularity bias tends to take affect imo. Would prefer people who have permanent ranks to be on top of it so that there is no worry about how voting would affect themselves, since I know some people are like that unfortunately.

That’s true. It could always be temporary until you promote another admin, whenever that may be. It’d probably be better to try it that way though instead of being pushed to make another admin. It would be a bit difficult to take that back. You could always just leave it at just two of you too. If for some reason you guys disagree, then maybe you can involve a neutral third party to help out? Sort of like an arbitrator. :P I was never here.
