What we need is some sort of enhancement request like Cyder mentioned. Even some welcome message to the FC as something I'd mentioned in the discord channels before. At least 256 characters.. but that's entirely reliant on Jagex wanting to rework the in game chats.

I'm still in favor of people reading the forums to get the items over max information. Its important to do your research when buying anything in real life, it should be no different here on RS. Scope's compilations provide a great starting point for that.

Why was AngelOfZaros kicked?

I didn't see the whole conversation, but from what I saw, it seemed as if he was kicked just for giving updates without perfectly using the preferred formatting. Guest in the cc [Clan Quark] for all off topic chat.

We could maybe just like put the previous 10 trades in fc every hour or something so that people who are interested can see last trades, wouldn't really harm the fc since it's not very active anyway. Seems a bit excessive but might provide some help to the community and bring more hat trades or ge updates to the fc.

I'm fine with going back to what we did before (where the pcer can decide if they want to decide to pc items over max). I don't want that forced because that's a lot to type out, which will become especially painful once the companion app gets decommissioned.

We'd then need to update the rules again such that its not a kickable offense.


Something to discuss in more detail with other ranks.


I'd love it if Jagex actually gave some thought to reworking the chats..

Welcome messages (what's pc'd, rules forum page, etc)
Accounts on ignore list get expanded to all alts (would probably save space on ignore tbh)

The main issue with pcing hats is we're damned if we do, damned if we don't. There will never be a middle ground unfortunately. The way we do it with Scope I's list is the best way because if people want to complain about outdated prices they can only blame themselves and the community for not reporting updates instead of us.

If, for whatever reason, ranges were brought back we would have very little activity in deciding the prices. Remember last summer when the fc was constantly full and we still only had a few people tops working on ranges? Even less people want to deal with ranges now, so if hats are to be pced again this is simply not the correct path to choose.

One idea I've had for a while is basically ditching the fc and making a Discord channel instead where a bot could give out prices, rules, etc. On our discord the permissions would need to be changed up a bit, but a new ranking for standard fc users could have very limited access to the pcing channel only, and if possible limit what they can say to prevent spammers. @Gob - People suggested something like that, an off site, IRC, etc. for years. Ultimately people aren't gonna go to the trouble of downloading an app or visit a site that they don't already use. This isn't to say that having a Discord or whatever isn't a good idea as well but i don't think it could ever replace the ingame FC.

As for using ranges or Scope's formula, I'm fine supporting whichever is deemed more accurate. It's not ranges that I was saying should be brought back in our Discord discussion, just that I think hats in general should be a part of the FC. It was the first purpose of the FC, and ultimately what people are most interested in (even if, as you said, they don't actually own them).

Ranks and indeed non-ranks are generally more motivated to contribute when they see more activity and more people in the chat, so I think this would help that problem too.

@Bond - Sure, if someone is taking the trouble to PC, they should be able to decide which items they PC - however I think it should definitely be their option, and I personally think having asking for hats as a kick-able offense is madness (even if it makes sense when we don't PC them).

@Trips - Not an awful idea, but Charm and I tried something similar in 2012 (not responding to requests, but having a full PC said in the FC every 15/30 minutes), it seemed to just result in arguing & complaints, and generally added spam to the FC. But times change, so who knows.

TL;DR - Support bringing hats back to the FC in some form Join "Pis2ols" FC for all discontinued item price checks.

With the amount of gamers using things like Discord, I really think it would work out. Yes, it'll be a slow transition but Morality is working with a discord bot to allow people to easily request pcs in the Discord without having to wait around for a pcer or be told to rtf. It also allows us to pc Scope's max+ chart. In a sense it does diminish the usefulness of ranks in the fc itself, however trusted ranks would be able to edit the bots lines to update them as needed.
