Welcome to the official thread for the [R Quark] friends chat and the [Clan Quark] clan chat.

Friends Chat [R Quark]:

With hundreds of active contributors, the [R Quark] friends chat strives to provide accurate and up-to-date prices on all discontinued holiday items, all of the time. The prices given by in the friends chat are the most recent Grand Exchange transaction reports that have been reported in the FC. Prices can change at any time. PCs should only be used as a guide and not a set price. The FC is meant only for reporting prices and giving PCs. Any other discussions should be taken to [Clan Quark] clan chat or in PM with a rank.

Clan Chat [Clan Quark]:

The clan chat is a chat open to the public for discussion of prices, trends, or any other topic within Runescape rules. This is the ONLY Quark-official place where you can discuss trends.

Rares Thread [Discontinued Item Status Series] :

These threads are located in the Item Discussion section of the official RuneScape forums. The purpose of the Discontinued Item Status thread are to keep track of the prices for items that are PC’ed in the [R Quark] FC. The prices on this thread are only historical. Prices are subject to volatility and rapid changes at any time, so prices on this thread should only be used as a guide.

***Note: If someone appears to be new and unaware of the FC rules, they should always be given a warning first and directed to this thread to learn how the FC works. We want to help players and give them guidance, so please be polite when teaching players how the FC works.***

Friends Chat Rules:

RuneScape Rules:

•The FC upholds and abides by the rules of RuneScape. If any FC user is found to be breaking a game rule (i.e. Bug Abuse, Scamming, Gambling, etc.) they can and will be removed from the FC and may be placed on the FC*s Kick On Sight (KOS) list or banned from the FC.

Offensive Language/Flaming/Personal Attacks:

•Offensive language will not be tolerated in the FC. General offensive language not directed at any player should be first given a warning, although kick ranks may use their discretion depending on the situation/context.

•Disrespect towards any player (rank or non rank) is not allowed and is grounds for instant removal without warning. Any complaints or concerns about another player should be made in [Clan Quark].

Off-Topic Chat:

*There should be NO off-topic chat in the FC at any time. The FC is only for price updates, price requests, and calling conflicts. Saying please and thank you is perfectly acceptable.

Obvious Trolling:

•Comments such as “PC bronze plate” or other obvious comments made to disrupt the FC are kickable.

Trading Within the FC:

•We DO NOT allow any trading in the FC at all. Players that attempt to trade in the FC should first be given a warning, and then removed from the FC if they continue their trade attempts.
•If a player breaks this rule, you may not ask for them to “add you*.

Price Trends/Movements:

•There should be no discussion price trends in the FC. This includes discussing past prices or predictions of future prices. This may be discussed in [Clan Quark].

Comments on Kicks:

•Commenting on kicks creates unnecessary spam and is not allowed in the FC.

Spam/Wrong Chats:

•Any player spamming the FC will be removed from the FC with or without warning

•The following all constitute spam:

-Any overuse of the symbols (~!@#$%^*) (Overuse is 2+ symbols in a line)
-Autotyping spam
-Asking for price checks more than once within 9 lines
-Repeated wrong chats (3 or more)

Friends Chat Rules (cont.)

Lobby/Beta/OSRS:

•These rules do not apply to ranks as they can still be helpful to the FC from lobby/other servers.

•Players on a Beta Server or OSRS Server are not permitted to use the FC as they can** use the RuneScape 3 Grand Exchange. These players are to be given a warning, and then removed if they do not leave after 1-2 minutes. This rule does not apply if the player is running lists from one of these servers.

•If the FC reaches maximum capacity (100 players), Lobbiers may be removed after being given a 2 minute and 30 second warning. The number of players in the FC can be checked using the orb of counting.

•Players using the Companion App (show up as being in lobby) may give reports from lobby as any price manipulation attempts can be caught through the conflict system. These players should leave the FC when ranks are removing lobbiers and may rejoin after lobbiers have been removed.

Encouraging Trust Trades:
(i.e. Doubling)

•You WILL be instantly kicked even if it was a wrong chat

•NOTE: Staking wrong chats are NOT instant kick.

Price Trends/Movements:

•There should be no discussion price trends in the FC. This includes discussing past prices or predictions of future prices. This may be discussed in [Clan Quark]. See post #2.1 for more info.

Manipulation:

•Any attempts to manipulate will result in being instantly removed from the FC. See post #1.6 for more info

Offensive Names:

*If a player with an offensive name talks in the FC, you should ask them to change their name and refrain from speaking until the change occurs. If they continue to talk in the FC, they may be removed.

•If a player with an offensive name is in the FC but isn’t speaking, you may not kick them, but it is recommended that you report them for the offensive name.

Kick Rank Discretion

Kick ranks may remove a player at any time if they feel that the player is attempting to disrupt the FC. Any kick rank that is found to abuse this power will be stripped of their rank. If you ever feel that a kick rank is abusing their power, please contact Trips or one of the Admins.

Manipulation

Direct Manipulation:

•Direct manipulation is defined as giving fake reports for items in the FC or fake conflicting real reports.

Indirect Manipulation:

•Players that indirectly attempt to manipulate prices will be given a warning. If the indirect manipulation attempts continue, the player will be removed from the FC.

•Indirect Manipulation Includes:
-Stating/asking whether it is good/bad to buy/sell an item.
-Stating/asking whether an item is going to rise/fall.

Price Conflicts

•If another player (rank or non rank) posts a price update that conflicts with an offer you have in the Grand Exchange, please state the conflict you have. Make sure to always check your offer before conflicting a player.

•All items that are given PCs in the friends chat have a 2/4 limit, meaning that only 2 of each item can be bought every four hours. If you are on limit for an item, you can*t conflict another player’s report.

•Your offer must be active and unfilled in the Grand Exchange for you to make a conflict.

*How to report a conflict:
-Be specific with your conflict!
-A higher buy offer can conflict a lower non-instant buy or instant sell offer.
-A lower sell offer can conflict a higher non-instant sell or instant buy offer.
-Example conflict: “Conflict. Buying higher for 30 minutes.”

•If a non-rank report is conflicted by a non-rank, the report will be ignored. If a non-rank report is conflicted by a rank, the conflicted player will be removed.

•Ranks should always check for timing issues or possible mistypes before removing a conflicted player.

Providing a Price Update

*Do NOT post incomplete transactions (No buy/sell) in the FC. These are allowed in the CC.

*Reports must be your own and not another player’s.

•In your report, please include these things:
-Item
-Instant/Non Instant
-Buy/Sell
-Price
-How long ago (if over 5 minutes)

•IN=instant NI=non instant B=buy S=Sell

•Instant means instant. If a transaction take longer than 0 seconds, it is considered non-instant.

Price Requests

•When requesting a price check, remember that someone has to type out their response. Please give the PCer time.

•Try to limit your PC requests to as few lines as possible.

•You can request for specific items or lines. Possible requests include:
-Santa pc please.
-Xmas and Edible pc?
-Partyhat pcs?

•If you think a price is outdated, don’t tell us! Update it!

•You should not request a price check by saying:
-Is Santa under 350m still?
-Is egg still 116b?
This is seen as indirect manipulation.

Rounding

[B] is rounded up, the reason for this being, if the price was to be rounded down
at all, the offer would not have completed.

[S] is rounded down, the reason for this being, if the price was to be rounded up
at all, the offer would not have completed.


This brings us to the notation,

B = Last reported transaction was Instant Bought/Ni Sold.
S = Last reported transaction was Instant Sold/Ni Bought.

How to Round Specific Items:
Prices in the following ranges should be rounded according,
• 0 - 2,147,483,647 (Maximum cash stack) should be rounded to appropriate 1m.
• Items above max cash will be compiled and the previous 10 trades will be displayed each day. Refer to post #1.7

Examples:
• Purple Partyhat Bought 805,567,789 Instant becomes 806b.
• Disk Sold 114.5 Flat Ni becomes 115b.

How the Grand Exchange Works

•When a player instant buys an item in the GE, the player buys the item at the LOWEST price offered on that item. This means another player non instant sold the item for that exact price.

•When a player instant sells an item in the GE, the player sells the item at the HIGHEST price offered on that item. This means another player non instant bought the item for that exact price.

Ranges - See post #2.2 to know if ranges are being used at this time

*Items that are bought and sold for above max cash are sometimes given ranges based off of the most recent confirmed trades.

•Discussions for new ranges are announced in the FC and take place in [Clan Quark]. New ranges require Admin approval in order to be updated.

•The only reports that can be used to update a range are reports that have been posted on the thread or in the fc except by those who have been known to fake or manip reports.

•For items involving one item above max cash being traded for another, we apply the “Precedence Rule”. This rule states that precedence for trades follow this order: Cracker, Blue, White, Red, Green, Yellow, Purple, Bsh. The means that a trade involving a Blue Party Hat and a Christmas Cracker would be considered a Cracker trade, etc.

•All ranges require ~10 confirmed trades to be updated (3 outside of current range and previous 7 trades). However the Christmas Cracker range only requires ~5 confirmed trades due to it's low volume. It is to the Admins’ discretion as to how many are needed for a specific update.

Kick On Sight (KOS)

•A player may be added to KOS for any of the following reasons:
~Trolling
~Manipulation- 2 rank conflicts at 2 separate occasions required.
~Scamming
~Luring
~Spamming
~Admin discretion

•Only Admins can officially add a player to KOS.

•If a player on KOS feels that they were wrongly added or feel that they deserve to be removed from KOS, they should either guest join [Clan Quark] or PM one of the Admins.

Ranking System

How to Obtain a Rank:

The ONLY way to acquire a rank in [R Quark] FC is to contribute. This can be done by:
-Monitoring the FC and enforcing the rules.
-Frequent, legitimate reports.
-Running the lists (PCing).
-Helping keep the [Discontinued Item Status] forum thread up-to-date.

Climbing the Rank Ladder:

•Trial Rank (Smiley)

A player can receive a smiley rank at any time after being recommended by another rank. A smiley rank shows that your efforts in the FC have been recognized. Conflicts by smiley ranks are not considered “Rank Conflicts” since smiley rank is still just a trial rank.

•Recruit-Captain

Having a rank between Recruit and Captain means that you have been voted up in a rank session and are trusted. Recruit+ are no longer considered “trial ranks” and their conflicts are now considered “Rank Conflicts”.

•General (Administrator)

General ranks are chosen by Trips and the current Admin team. Admins are in charge of day-to-day operations of the FC and are in constant contact with each other and Trips. They watch over the FC to make sure that it runs smoothly. Collectively, the Admins have the right to create or change rules when needed, however, this requires unanimous approval from all Admins.

Ranking system:

Ranks/members of the community will inform an admin of their fc activity directly via a pm in-game, on this thread, or with the clan’s discord. If an admin is unavailable, they can have a high-ranking friend chat or clan chat member relay the info to an admin. From there the admins will assess that activity level based on others of that same rank and decide if you should be ranked up or kept. Ranks may get ranked down if they ‘coast’ their activity for too many reviews in a row, or if you fail to report any activity between reviews. Rank reviews will happen every 4-6 weeks after the previous one and are independent of each ranked member.

Benefits of Being Ranked:

•You have access to the chat and the ability to talk at all times.

•You will never be removed due to a rank joining.

•You can be in the FC while on other servers (OSRS/Beta) or in Lobby.

•You can vote on the performance of other ranks.

Closed Chat (Ability for Ranks ONLY to talk):

In the unlikely event that the FC is closed,

•PM ranks with price updates, and they will report on your behalf. Also PM ranks if you have any conflicts!

•Lists will be run every 10 minutes, and it is expected that Non Ranks can wait for these.

•Ranks can request a PC whenever they like, however.

•Reasons for the FC to be closed:
-Rank Session
-Manip Attacks
-Spam Attacks
