What happens as you earn denarius?

Well you progress further in Rome, of course! Each rank requires a higher amount of denarius to earn the promotion, and that amount will be subtracted each time.

Below will be listed the requirements for each member to be promoted to the next class.

Citizens are now eligible to run for elections

What if I choose to run for election once I become a Citizen?

If you choose to run for election it will simply cost you 5 denarius. You then have the option to run for the following offices: Aedile, Quaestor, Praetor, Consul, Tribune

Should you be elected, you will earn 5 denarius weekly for your new position.

Event Rewards and your Rank in Rome

A major element when it comes to events in TRE are the rewards. Each week TRE hosts a Premier Event which usually grants a large cash prize to the winner(s) of said activity.

Additionally, during holidays such as Christmas or milestones such as TRE's birthday, all active members will receive a reward directly from TRE as a gift.

What does your rank have to do with this?

Quite a lot! The rewards increases with your rank. Let's say the event cash prize is 5 million gp. If you are a Peregrini and are the event winner, you will win the base reward of 5 million gp. However, if you are a Plebeian you will earn 6. If you are a Citizen you will earn 7, if you are an Equite you earn 8, if you are a Patrician you earn 9, and if you are an Imperial Patrician you will earn 10.

So as you can see, rewards scale with your rank.

Where do these rewards come from?

All rewards come directly from TRE's bank, which is located on the

TRE Central

account. The first week of every month is to be known as

Donation Week

, where members will be heavily encouraged to donate an amount of their choosing to TRE. These donations become TRE revenue, and get spent on each of you each week!

Additionally, donations will result in denarius relative to the amount you donate.

500k- earn 3 Denarius
1 million+ earns 4 Denarius
5 million+ earns 5 Denarius
10 million+ earns 6 Denarius
15 million+ earns 7 Denarius
20 million+ earns 8 Denarius
25 million+ earns 9 Denarius
30 million+ earns 10 Denarius

So why does TRE utilize this system? Surely you can just promote people on the eye test?

Correct, we could simply promote people on whim - but what fun is that? TRE is a community clan with Rome as it's model. Our goal is to make TRE a game of it's own, with a unique way to experience a clan and with an infrastructure that maintains both cost and reward.

We want our members to immerse themselves in our Roman world and help create an atmosphere that is truly unique and offers something fun.

All members are required to acknowledge this guide prior to receiving their first promotion. We also encourage you to continue coming back to check for updates and keep track of your denarius.

Additionally, everyone is welcome to create their own threads on this clan page. Want to start a Pvm group? Start a thread and get people to join in! Looking to establish your own group within TRE? Build you a thread and get it going.

The Emperor
Years Active: 2004 - 2008

Caesar established Rome in 2004 as The Western Roman Empire. Launching a campaign to reduce the population of Roman clans and establish a central faction, TRE was born out of the Consolidation Wars. He headlined the first generation of Rome and started traditions that would, even if minimally, remain in tack for the duration. It was under Caesar that the proud and boastful character of TRE was born.

Caesar remained Emperor up until the first Roman Civil War, where he regained power from Redsparten for a brief amount of time. However, his popularity following his return would never equate what it was before - shown by the fact that not everyone supported his claims to the throne. Regardless, Caesar founded a clan which would live on to see the next decade and beyond - rivaling the game's oldest clans and outliving nearly all contemporaries.

The Legatus
Years Active: 2005 - Present

Largely considered Rome's prototypical General, Red led much of TRE's early wars under Caesar as well as post-Caesar. Gaining the throne briefly during the First Roman Civil War, he abdicated to Caesar and returned as a general - though his claim to power remained legitimate and a powerbase of Romans backed him, even over Caesar. Never bogged down by Roman politics, Red gained power through favour.

Though early Rome is largely considered Red's prime, he would return many years later and support multiple regimes and gain a portion of the throne in 2012. He remains highly regarded and is a key representative of first generation Rome and it's better qualities.

The Architect
Years Active: 2005 - Present

An upstart who fell victim to Caesar's Consolidation Wars, Pax held a hostile yet envious attitude toward Rome early on - flirting with TRE through alliances one week, and warring it with makeshift clans the next. This was due, in large part, to his animosity toward Caesar. Not until Caesar faded did Pax gain roots in Rome, and he became immediately controversial. The first to modernize Rome, Pax increased the combat requirements and stirred the wrath of the same people who supported Caesar's prior claim to the throne, despite winning a war early on. It did not help his claims that he supported Red over Caesar in the First Civil War.

In later years, Pax sought the expansion of TRE's external reputation. Sanctioning mass assaults of flame and trolling on enemy clans, he used this harassment as a prelude to war and ensured that conflict with TRE remained an unsavory experience. Pax's Hornet's Nest was utilized relentlessly from 2009 up until 2011. Seen as both a warmonger and a peacemaker in this time he remained no stranger to controversy or conflict. At the height of his influence he began to fade in later 2011, as TRE shifted culturally and a new generation grew distrustful of his motives. Pax remains one of the longest active members of TRE,
as well as a key architect and enforcer in it's continued structure and procedure.

The Preserver
Years Active: 2008 - Present

Matt, a second generation Roman, rose to prominence in what has often been regarded as The Age of Civil War. 2008 was a year of inconsistency and weakness, but saw the influx of Rome's next generation of leaders - including Matt. Former leader of the smaller Egyptian Empire, Matt later merged his faction into TRE once it arose from a severe depression and addedthe slight stimulus and seasoned leadership that it required.

Gaining popularity, as well as the appeal of older veterans such as Pax and Mos (despite their feud, neither could deny Matt's competence) he rose to several Senate seats, key regime roles, and eventually the throne.

Proto

The Reliable
Years Active: 2009 - Present

Proto was an individual who went through an amazing change. When he first joined Rome in early July, he soon saw the the August Civil War of 2009, and he was one of the Roman leaders who left that did not join the rebel faction, Rogue Legion, commanded by Pax Bellum in his effort to combat the sitting Emperor, Mos. Despite Proto's refusal to align with the rebel faction, many in mainstream Rome remained unfond of him.

He left Runescape for a while but then, after the conclusion of the Civil War, he rejoined Rome under Pax. He turned himself into a popular, unbiased, and favoured Roman leader within a regime that was fertile for new leaders. His main concern has always been that none are loyal to him, and that all are loyal to Rome. Often more focused on bringing an end to conflict, one of his earliest achievements was defeating The Northern Force and striking an alliance with the former hostile and separatist clan. He would rise to the throne multiple times.

The Senator
Years Active: 2005 - 2011, 2017

Mos, like Pax, was an upstart who fell victim to Caesar's Consolidation Wars. His small clan, Sons and Daughters of Rome, was absorbed. Despite the time he has spent on the throne, his most notable achievements and the cornerstone of his career exists in the Senate. He contributed greatly in bringing the Senate up back and running, after Caesar left and Redsparten took over, and remained one of few to walk away from the First Civil War without scars to his reputation.

Mos stood with TRE in the darkness that followed months later, particularly when Rome was weakened by poor and inconsistent regimes and power plays by outside manipulators who still favoured Caesar. He understood Rome's strengths and weaknesses, and how to combat them, which is what made him a great Roman. He was the perfect foil to Imperialists such as Pax and Paint, and remained one of very few who could run a Republican form of government. One of the two greatest politicians in Roman history.

Thundar12

The Law-Abiding Citizen
Years Active: 2008-2016

Thundar, like Matt, is a second generation Roman who joined in early 2008 - but only briefly. He later rejoined under Tater160's reign a few months later, and has been involved with TRE on and off since then. Thundar has held nearly every position in TRE once or twice, and takes pride in his extensive legal career.

He has been Praetorian Prefect at least five times, has been Praetor a number of times, and of course has held the position of emperor more than once. He was largely known for running the old and now antiquated Praetorian Guard,
and his roles in several civil wars under figures such as Mos and Pax against the likes of Paint244 and Lordchill.

Roman Interests
Years Active: 2009 - 2012

Faunus' career in Rome began in late 2009, under the Pax Bellum regime of October-December. From his time in the Senate to his short time on the throne, he managed to express his overall desire in pleasing Rome itself, and seeing to it that all interests were satisfied. He's a fine example of not only a capable Senator and loyal Roman, but as an unbiased official appealing to many leaders and regular individuals alike.

The Popular
Years Active: 2006 - Present

Dobee is a first generation Roman of the old days, and one who had not taken up any major leadership roles until later in his career in TRE. After much involvement in pro-veteran activities and civil wars, and after having become much more vocal and interested in key issues within Rome, Dobee was finally made Emperor for the first and only time. Since the end of his regime, he has remained a dedicated member and an active protector of Roman interests.

The Stabilizer
Years Active: 2008 - 2016

CJ arrived in TRE with the second generation in 2008, including Thundar, Mattb, Rrapid, Benjo, Tsar Nko IV, Rao Bear, and others. For most of his time, he had remained mostly secular and removed from major leadership roles and, similar to Dobee, preferred to be an active member of the community. This changed when he became Emperor in 2014 and brought with his regime a time of stability, an absence of in-fighting, and general progress that would open up many opportunities.
