This post is about the Clan Forums (the forums our clan have)

#1: problem I see is the (sorry) Plain ugly look, they look like nothing a clan forum would be. Lets give the clan forums some love :)

#2: In the clan forum we can't pretty up our threads, if you look at the RSOF you can see all the possibilities: Bold letters , Colors, [qfc id=]links[/qfc],... Why doesn't the Clan forums has these options?

#3: You can't properly administrate the threads (like making sections)

#4: Add poll options to the clan forums.

#5: add vote options to the clan forums

#6: Add a Clan AND Ingame clock to these forums (event related).

I believe the clan forums would be much more appealing and much more used when user friendly AND it would lower the necessity 3th party sites (and its potential security risks)

I do agree it is an area that would be great to update. It is also a massive task though and something that will have to wait behind other web projects for now.

It really comes down to what we need to do next. Current focus is the Adv log but we are keen to eventually update the whole site. Clans are an integral part of the game and certainly not something we underestimate on the website either :)

A lot of your suggestions are awesome though so please keep them coming. Mod Maz has been a massive influence in the office for helping the web team understand the importance of clans to the game so we are listening :)

I know there might be other priorities (like adventure logs) but that's no excuse to leave other updates abandoned.

And no offence but i find 2 years a bit too long.

The clan forums are fine the way they are now; a basic communication tool for new clans. Nothing more, nothing less. They shouldn't "waste" time on making it better, as it's quite obvious most clans prefer the freedom offsite forums give and the official clan forums won't ever come close to that. Even if the proposed improvements were made, most clans would still switch to offsites eventually. If they're going to update forums, I'd rather see them happen to these forums. It's 2016, but the forums make me feel like I'm stuck in the year 2000 and my DeLorean is out of gas.

I'm a pretty avid forumer, but I don't use our clan forums. Do you know why? Because they suck. Support for improving the clan forums, and support for this thread reinstating interest in such a thing. And thank you

By the way, if there already do exist threads on suggestions people might have, we shouldn't be admonished for grave-bumping if the interest in what an antiquated thread is suggesting *still exists*.

P.S. Clam is a G.I.R.L., or guy in real life, but I agree she's pretty cute ;) And if I give her free stuff in-game, maybe she'll be my e-girlfriend???? And then when she refuses, I can harass her and throw insults because I don't know how to handle rejections from strangers online???

I'd just like to point out that these options used to be there, but were broken when an update was added to jagex.com some time ago.

This is probably (although I have not looked myself) the result of some maintenance one of our teams did to jagex.com

#webMeat has this in their upcoming fixes we just have not had time to start it just yet.

Apologies in the mean time

Full support for updating our Clan Forums though, at least cosmetically. They, along with our Clan Pages, look very outdated compared to the rest of the Runescape website. ~ Sicariu

they are not, rsof are fine: you can link every corner of the rs site in this forum, you can color up your text in every color existing...

and most people don't like offsite because they are either full of adds, premium features that cost irl money OR they are very insecure. The ony reason people use offsites is because people are either forced by their admins (rank systems etc.) or because the admins, us, are forced to use them because the OFFICIAL clan forums lack proper features.

This is probably the attitude which stops us from getting improvements in general, every aspect of a game should be created to it highest possible quality not just overlooked so you can concentrate on another half baked update or feature. This games biggest flaw really.
