Hi, I've read the whole thread with interest. What a frustrating position for you.
Your clan 'Leader' clearly isn't leading.
If he can't be there to lead the clan, that's fine, and that happens. IRL comes first, however as Leader he has responsibilities which he is not fulfilling. From what I read here, he didn't found the clan, and was surprised to come back and find out he had suddenly been made Leader without his knowledge or agreement.
From what I read, he's never actually led the clan, but was just given the owner key one day without his knowledge. Is that right? In that case it's extremely disappointing that he didn't do the right thing and step down to Deputy, once he found out what happened.
Hope you find him, and hope he does the responsible thing and steps down when he turns up again.

This may seem harsh Naruto but this thread is a clear example of why you shouldn't post inner clan information/issues on the forums as it may blow up out of proportion due to different styles of leadership and certain leaders may get emotionally involved which is a big nono.
I hope they cease a desist with that behaviour for starters, we do not need this here. You represent your clan.
I sympathize your cry for help and assistance but remember that a clan is a team and with any form of relationship there must be communication and understanding.
You are not the only clan that I have seen where the owner does not "lead".
My best advice is it's really up to you or if you still feel uncomfortable seek out private help from the
Flag a Concern
thread and do not let another clan's ideals effect your own.
All the best to you Naruto, don't let it consume you.

I don't experience this thread as a bad thing. I'm still reading all replies with great interest and will continue doing so as more appear. I believe there's a healthy discussion going on right now about what leadership is and if clan members are just followers or may have demands of their own. To me this has been one of the most interesting discussions on the Clan Leader forum. If you do not wish to read about it, nobody is forcing you

I feel that jagex should be able to step in for a situation like this 0_0
that isn't leadership, it's rather... oh look a key.. but I will never be able to be here for you guys so good day? (the reason isn't important as its VERY easy to step down when you see you aren't able to use it)
Not trying to sound rude, but I wouldn't exactly make commitments that aren't a possibility for my lifestyle/career/choices/whatever (you get what I mean)
The president/prime minister/queen/king/leader wouldn't make a runescape clan either because they know they couldn't be here to do what a runescape clan leader does
^trying to say this in the nicest way I possibly can think of since its a very touchy subject considering the nature of the current leaders irl occuptation.... but the clan didn't choose this, the leader did
I can happily announce that the owner showed up and after lots of talking and delaying he finally stepped down earlier today. It would have been a whole lot easier for our and many other clans if Jagex would help out a bit earlier. One year of inactivity is a lot, definitely when you're the owner. I think most clan leaders would agree that the key ranks are supposed to be distributed among the more active players within a clan. It shouldn't be too easy but is one year of inactivity the right time to wait?

It should be changed to be 6 months instead.
On another note: I'm glad the issue have been resolved.
