The clan's permission rewrite was suppose to effect a VAST majority of code relating to clan's, not just simple mute features. A rewrite would prompt a big rework of the whole code, potentially leading to other great updates. That was my understanding of it, but I could be wrong.

At any rate, the clan permission rewrite in itself should benefit all clan's in some form. What clan really wouldn't benefit from it? Also, any clan boasting thousands of "bumps" on their thread has no ground to stand on with the "it's spam" argument, imo.

It's in the word all . A clan's own leader is in a better position to judge whether his/her own clan benefits from this rather than the leader of a different clan. It's an assumption that all clans benefits from it, and there only has to be 1 clan who doesn't benefit from it and the argument would be false. Maybe the majority of clans benefit from this, but I can't say that for sure. We can't see all the data, and there're thousands of clans. The clans actively represented in the CLF is probably under 5% of the total number of clans. That's why we have RuneLabs, if P2P clans will benefit from this it will receive a lot of votes.

The guy's argument might be wrong as it's certainly not spam, but it is advertising. I personally don't have a problem with it, but if he sees a problem he's allowed to ask a forum moderator to hide the post.

Fire, I think it's a good suggestion and I encourage you to look at the suggestion by itself, unbiased by any personal disagreements you might have with people who happen to support it. I don't think it'll benefit all clans since not all clans have issues with all admins having the ability to kick, but it would still be an investment toward clan stability, and would allow for more sensible rank hierarchies.

Tiber, I'll admit I thought your posts were spammy, given the way your post was worded. The only reason why I supported it on The Name's recruitment thread is because it's an idea I agree with and one I would have encouraged my clannies to support, anyway. But from the perspective of others, it might have seemed like you were forcing this RuneLabs idea on everyone else without the courtesy of explaining why you thought it'd be a useful update, and that they should make their own judgment based on what you can see it doing for clans.

For future reference, I would advertise such a thing by explaining its relevance, so that it would look more like something that'd they be interested in and as such, something you were sharing with them, as opposed to something you were advertising to them.

/these are my opinions only, and they are not fact. I apologize if I came off as "delivering the grand truth" since I know people who do that, and it's very disrespectful and irritating.

Fire, a clan doesn't have to agree that it benefits them for it to actually benefit them.

I could be addicted to video games and I would say that family intervention wouldn't benefit me, while family intervention would, in fact, benefit me ;)

I'll leave it at that since this isn't necessarily what the thread's about.

Furthermore, the ideas will be polled to pick the winner based on hand-picked selections, so the chances of winning the entire thing are slim at best. The main benefit of this is to show clan updates are wanted enough to get a high score within Runelabs, never-mind the end result.
