From a technical point of view this is not substantially different from a White List system and both would require significant engine development specifically for this requirement, before any other work could be done on integration with clan chat or interfaces, etc. and therefore would demand high levels of Dev and QA resource. As such this makes this suggestion highly unlikely to be considered for future development.

No support. Completely unnecessary. We already have the option to kick/ban them, that's enough. I am in favor of previously discussed whitelists, but that is altogether different than what you are suggesting.

They would do the damage to the atmosphere of the Clan before they get kicked. Even the kick message is very unpleasant in itself. Gives a clear and true feel that there is issues going on in that Clan. That's not good for the health of the Clan to me, nor is it peaceful (and no, I won't suggest to disable guesting completely, because it is a bad restricting move. The guesting system should have a wider diverse of options than it currently does).

Anyway, considering your emphasizing's; I think we can only come in terms of agreeing to disagree =) . Thank you for your input.

If guests are an issue causing distress in your clan chat. Then perhaps its best for you to simply turn off guest access. I have rarely experienced disruptive guests and even in bursts they only last for a short time. Close your CC for a day and they just scamper off, back to their little holes in the ground. Is it inconvenient? Yeah, kinda. But is it more inconvenient than the amount of development/QA time something relatively minor like this would take to prepare and release? Absolutely not.

This is a leadership issue, not a Jagex issue, IMO.

This is absolutely necessary if they implement the new cooldown system for recruiting, for my clan. We leave our clan closed to guests for many reasons... but with this new feature we would allow guests :)

Well....my clan has recently gone through a period of guests spamming our clan chat, so I think my opinion has certainly changed on this.

I support the idea now, but it should have an on/off switch.

Hell..
Cant we have both then? Not trying to be difficult of course, but if the white list could possibly one day be added in game... with a "random guest is knocking approve/deny/add to white list" feature as well... :P

*minds blown*

Uh... nevermind that was the original suggestion i have smarts. Woo!

Yes, on/off was explained in the first post, by saying it is optional =)

And just for the record, 80% of why I want this to happen is because the issues "other" Clans gets with dishonest guests, and not ours.
