Yeh we have had a similar situation, up to this day, they keep going at us for some spitefull grudgy who knows reason. I gave up on talking to them long time ago.

Just ban them from the clan, play open cards with whoever is interested why they are banned. Stay true to your own values and move on.

Those moving along with the one leaving, wont be worthed to have in your clan in the first place. They just have a different idea on how and what a clan for them is exactly.
And clearly they feel that the new clan will be more something for them then the one they are currently in / they just left. Nothing much you can do about it tbh

Okay so.............update for everyone ^_^

Our leader messaged to guest and asked about it. The guest claims he didn't ask him, that it was his clan's deputy that asked, and "only jokingly because we knew he'd say no." Our leader told him "Oh alright," but also mentioned that it's called poaching and that it's considered a complete dick move to do to a friendly clan. Our leader intentionally added that in to discourage the guest from trying anything in the future.

At the moment, we're going to let it go in order to keep drama down for everyone, but we're not going to give a second chance if we hear about it again.

I was gonna say if at all possible speak to them about it, and if they refuse just put them on the ban list to prevent anything silly. But then again yeah it would casue a stir but over a week or so give or take it would settle down though. But im glad to hear its settled down and ready to take action if it happend again. But best of luck to you guys!

Seeing as this person is clearly dishonest, after having talked to them, you will in fact endanger your Clan by not having him on the ban list. I think you might be exaggerating the backlash caused from doing so. Did you consider taking these steps?

Step 1: Explain (communicate) to your Clan Members what this person is doing, and why they need to be placed on the clan ban list. Also, answer any questions they might have,
without sounding defensive or aggressive
(doing the opposite will make the clan members disrespect and distrust you. be careful).

Step 2: Add them to the Clan Ban list.

Step 3: Be passive about any clan member choosing to disregard your earlier feedback and leave. Your clan is better off without a close-minded short-sighted person.

Step 4: Continue doing the previous step with patience and confidence and wait until the issue is completely resolved. Make sure to also continue answering any questions your clan mates have, while applying the same manner you used previously.

I've never understood why so many people on here seem to have so much of an issue with 'poaching'.

Clan membership is (or should be) an optional thing to develop friendships and build communities - if someone is happy in a clan, they're not going to leave because an ex-member suggests it.

If they do leave, then either they're clearly not getting what they want from being part of your clan, and it's better for both of you.

It strikes me as akin to trying to prohibit your partner from socialising without you "in case they leave you for someone else" - trust is a fundamental cornerstone of any successful relationship, and clans are just the same.

If having a high membership count is more important to you than your members actually wanting to stay in your clan, perhaps you should be asking yourself why you made a clan in the first place.
