Ahh that too, but it wasn't the one I was thinking of - went and had a browse through the archives; this is the one I was thinking of http://services.runescape.com/m=news/warning-fansite-users-hijacked?allcat=false
Typically, malware that appears in the process tab will try to use names that are really similar to genuine system processes, or which look harmless.
T Board gave a great example on page 2 of this thread: iexplore.exe is Windows Internet Explorer, but iexplorer.exe is a malicious program.
Given the massive amounts of malicious software out there, it would be quite hard to just provide a whole list of filenames that are possible malware... and this wouldn't include genuine files that have been corrupted/infected anyway. Best thing to do is to get some anti-malware software to do the checks for you!

Could I provide some security tips for those who run off-site clans, to help them better protect their members? It's mainly spam/scam account prevention measures.
I'd really rather keep this thread for information about securing personal accounts/details. Securing clan sites is a different thing altogether, and it's not something that I have vast amounts of experience with, so I'd be quite uncomfortable posting information about it.
It does sound like an excellent subject for a new thread in this forum though, and something that I'm sure a lot of clan site owners would welcome!
Lucky Jen:
Yes, good point, defining some of the basic terms would be an excellent idea (the difference between account hijacking and hacking is one that certainly seems to confuse a lot of people!).
I'll see what I can come up with - thanks

A large amount of the hacking is due to people's laziness; ie they ask a friend to do a puzzle for an elite clue/puzzle for a quest etc.
Perhaps reinforcing the fact that there are plenty of guides out there which do not require you trusting someone you don't know not to steal your stuff on login would be beneficial?
