Also, I think in 2004 or 2005 there was frontpage news about a fansite getting hacked and passwords etc. were taken, you may want to point to that as sort of "evidence" it's a big risk to use your password on other sites. (I might go look for that newspost in a bit).

Might have been mentioned before, didn't read the rest of the thread ;)

There's an account clean thread under account help which can delete your recoveries history if say someone got your past passwords/recoveries and delighted in having an account tug of war.

Yes, seems it was removed today, it was a trial afterall.

I assume they're discussing how successful it was, to see if a permenant implementation is plausable.

Might be worth keeping an eye on it though, in case it comes back, I've referred a few players to it before, successfully.

If I had anything to add, it would be, don't make yourself a target. Bank vids, pking vids, bragging about how you have phats every color of the rainbow...make you a tasty morsel.

Tbh, becoming a mod or a clan leader makes you more of a target as well :P

(Note- it doesn't have to make you a target. But every vent/site you access is giving your details to the admin, and who knows how secure they keep their junk O_o )

I always confuse 'preventive' and 'preventative'. Stupid. O_o

And yet more evidence that I'm not on my own PC with the spellcheck, of course... which reminds me, something on the dangers of using others' machines is needed. I shall add something later on ;)

Also, not making yourself a target is good advice, I agree. I'd forgotten about bank vids and suchlike. :| I'll add that too ;)

Hey, I always have the fear of keyloggers, but I have never been hijacked in well over 3 years. I'm using vista, and I have been using the processes tab to help reduce any lag I may have. Could you give me an example of what a keylogger would look like in the process tab? That would be great.
