I'm posting this in hopes of drawing more attention to what a few of us in the Clan Leader Discord are planning. Before expanding with details, please note that we all fully understand that not all clan leaders will support this, for whatever their reasons may be, and that's fine. This message is for those who do, and wish to help us make a tiny dent in the wall of Jagex Oversight. This proposal is also a bit sporadic, and we only decided to do this just today, in hindsight it should have been thought of and planned better, but so should many game updates...

This Monday we would like to organize a demonstration in Menaphos (or outside it) to shine a light on how important clans are to Runescape and it's future. One of the many reasons clans don't win polls and surveys is because most people would rather have something simple, but guaranteed, as well as helpful to them specifically, rather than to Clans as a group, even if they are in one. Regardless of that fact, and the fact that clans will probably never win any polls, clans are a huge part of the game, with most active players being in a clan, or a Friends chat.

This is a call for anyone who agrees that clans need to be looked at, worked on, and updated. This is a call to an organised and peaceful protest. Please keep in mind this is not a riot, our goal is not to cause a disturbance but to show up en masse, and show Jagex and anyone who is there that clans are not a tiny percent, but are just as important to Runescape as Menaphos itself!

Those familiar with our goals in the CLF community are still awaiting the much needed permissions rework, with no date in sight. There is also potential of making clans an legitimate source of game updates, should Jagex ever consider rewriting the code behind it.

I am not the leader of this protest, although I was fairly outspoken in favor of it on discord. If you would like to join us in a shared voice, post below!

Edit: Cancelled.

Feel free to share your thoughts about the lack of clan updates as well. With a unified voice, and protest, perhaps Jagex will finally notice us!

As a final thought, if you have access to the clan leader discord server, feel free to post there too!

Will check back tomorrow morning, till then, good night :)

I don't think there is a need for a demonstration. Jagex is well aware of the impact of clans on the game I think, it is understandable that people want new fancy things isntead of clan reworks which they as clan members don't see the point in.

We as clan leaders see the struggles and make sometimes the best of the situations. But we do get some clan updates, however slowly... It is best to communicate with each other about it like on this forum then to do demonstrations in my opinion.

Here are my 2 cents on the matter.

Believe me I'm more than in favour of Jagex giving clan more updates as I have been a strong advocate for it in private conversations and in support of other leaders ideas over the 6-7 years being in the CLF.

The fact of the matter disappointingly is that clans came 3rd to last in the summer summit last year and yes I do agree as this is partly due to other content such as skills/new locations/bosses/quests which will always win. So in Jagex's eyes the support for it is really low.

In addition historically speaking reworks haven't been a success so speaking from a business perspective the ROI is a terrible idea an example of this is the barbarian assault rework.

Furthermore the clan updates which the majority of us want permissions rewrite/more plots etc only cater to a a small group which again doesn't merit a lot of money being spent on it. The permission rewrite will only be beneficial to the admin+ team so the majority of the people in the clan won't even be using it. In terms of more plots how many people cap in citadels? I know my clan wise as much as I want more plots not enough people would cap to demonstrate to Jagex is a viable thing.

After the summer summit I spoke to Mod Osborne and Mod Kelpie in private we also had both of them acknowledge that clans are an important part of the game and they will try to have updates but it wouldn't be on a large scale.

In addition Mod Osborne joined the CLF discord and spoke to us about what updates we wanted and spoke to Mod Kelpie about allocating time late this year for clan update(s), but that won't be happening till the bank rework is completed.

Furthermore Mod Matthe, Mod Maz and Mod Moltare are out biggest advocates and supports within the company and they keep fighting out corner so do give them some breathing space. We are getting an avatar rework thanks to Mod Moltare.

Moreover Mod Matthe is also working on doing something potentially about citadel boosters but that's still in early stages.

So believe me Jagex are aware of clans and how important they are. I'll be very annoyed and upset if we don't get an update with the time slot we were allocated later this year and that's when I'd say we need to get together not just as leaders but with our clan and show the importance by means of a letter/demonstration.

That's a good point.

This protest was organised very sporadically and far too close to the release of menaphos to really get enough people to show up. We will see how the day goes today, if not enough people want to help out, I can rework the protest into the form of a CLF post, and expand from there for the time being.

If we don't get our slot this year though, I will protest even if I am alone, and will use the remainder of my membership to do so.

We had our chance, we blew it. I think spamming up a new area that's hoping to attract new players to the game would do more harm than good.

The reason for that can be explained fairly simple as i did on discord. People will never vote for something that benefits a group, even one they are in, if they can instead for for something that benefits them directly.

Jagex need to change up their poll structure, and update structure altogether, and simply update what THEY want, with the specific update based on what we want.

For example they want to release a boss, we vote if its a skilling boss, a lower level boss, a high level endgame bosss, or a raid boss.

Or, Jagex wants to make a clan update.

We vote on what we want, like a new citadel tier, more options for clan avatars, new plots, or something else like one of the thousands of updates we suggested.

Which this system jagex updates what they feel is needed, while we get to vote for what we want.

Hiii all :)

I had a discussion with Tyras earlier and I thought I'd give some input into this thread.

A brief summary of the things we talked about:

- Clan permissions & Avatar update
He said that he'd like to see more flexibility with the way clan permissions work, especially around the way the avatar works so that it encourages clan mates to skill together. In terms of changes to the avatar, I mentioned the upcoming update that Mod Moltare has collected feedback for . Hopefully this helps to resolve some of the concerns around avatars. If you have any more ideas about how to improve avatars it might be worth having a look at the Clan Avatar Feedback thread.

- Citadel rework (Tier 8 and more skill plots)
He said he'd like to see a major rework of the citadel, in particular he mentioned that he wanted a new tier and more skill plots. It looks like this has been suggested before in Tier 8 and extra skill plots! , but wasn't as popular as other updates in player polls. It might be worth starting a new thread about this idea to get some more updated feedback. It's been compared in size to updates like Priffdinas and Menaphos though, so it would need to be able to justify those kinds of development resources.

- Citadel xp rates
He said he'd like to see higher experience rates from the citadel, and said that having the best XP rates in the game would be ideal. This has been discussed before, and the citadel xp rates have been updated before. I looked for a thread about this and found Citadel plot exp "incentive" , where we were told that the citadel's experience rates are not intended to be the best in the game, and their balancing had been investigated. If you have any questions about the experience rates it might be worth posting a thread to have a more detailed discussion about it.
