Hey so I know I didn't handle this situation well even while I was trying to handle it, and the person in purple didn't do a good job either, especially when he said that getting the flame ring wasn't worth the xp bonus. How would you guys have dealt with this situation?

One thing first, in your PM to him, you forgot to cover the RSN there. :P

Honestly, I've never seen someone ask others to do something like that for beacons. By the time he would find enough people to volunteer to help him in the way that he wanted, he could have filled them himself in less time.

I wouldn't necessarily classify that as "begging" (just because he's asking for someone's time and not items), but it does seem like an odd and unnecessary request to make. I've done beacons multiple times and always assumed that everyone did a few runs to fill them with logs, then ran through to light them.

As for how you handled it, I don't see anything wrong with it. I probably would have just explained the situation as more efficient to do by yourself than with that type of help.

And just my personal input, I have 122m Firemaking Xp, and RoF/Flame Gloves are worth it. ^_^ ~ Sicariu

Way back when I did the beacons (for the inferno adze) I had someone with me through the Wilderness to act as my bodyguard. This was when I was really poor, and losing the logs would have set me back. However, I put the logs in myself, in all of them, then lit them one by one - as Vivy was suggesting in the chat.

Vivy, I think you handled it well - you tried to explain how you could do it without the need for others to be pack yaks for the player in question. If that person doesn't want to listen to your advice, you can't do anything about it. If they are then complaining that "you're useless" simply because you won't be a pack yak, then does he really want advice, or just free help with everything? Another possibility is, with some of the beacons in the wilderness, was he trying to lure people? Unlikely, but hey. MrBrokenBow - Former Leader and Founder of

, I should have thought to word it that way lol since it was much clearer, and also an answer that would resonate with someone who was thinking selfishly--that it was legit straight up faster for him to do beacons on his own than to coordinate with a human pack yak.

He also left the clan the next day, like actually lmao. When the purple person told a friend what happened, that friend even said "So I heard [green person] left the clan because of beacons. Good riddance" and to be completely honest I lol'd at that :P

, lol that's a good point, actually. I doubt he was trying to lure, but I could have said to him, Why are you so adamant about this? Are you trying to lure someone?" since that would have probably made him more self-conscious.

way over the top with the whole begging thing, wasnt really any need for that. Innocent enough situation was blow way out of proportion.

, that's a good point. With this guy though, I'm not so sure if he would have understood that if he wasn't getting an answer now...that at the very least he could try again later, or that no one wanted to help with such a thing at all.
