That's not very nice, not all of us can be forum mods :( We can't help that we don't have glowing green posts. So guess what, you're trash too, because I say so!! :| :| :|

Related note, lol @ how HLF refers to regular forums as LLF, not to be condescending, but simply because it's more convenient. I think using the term LLF if you have HLF access is also kind of cute :)

(And lol

The term LLF does carry a lot of negative connotations though - it's not just a convenient shorthand.

It is also (rightly) frowned upon by staff as a result.

What sort of negative connotations does the term LLF carry? Are a lot of higher leveled folk very elitist--do they look down on others as socially inferior, because of Runescape stats or Runescape knowledge because doing so makes their egos feel better?

The term 'LLF' is generally used to imply the inferiority of the regular forums to the HLF, and with it the inferiority of those who cannot post on the HLF.

It is thereforea a negative, derogatory and unhelpful term. Using it says a lot about the poster's attitude towards other players.

For some reason Archy, that reminds me of those P2P people that go to F2P for the sole purpose of starting a fight about how they're the superior player, even if their combat level is lower than everyone else's X) @Lisaa_RS - Followed by @Runescape

, interesting. Does that attitude of the regular forums being inferior to the HLF stem from increased jmod visibility on the HLF, or simply how there seem to be more threads with intellectual life on them? And it's funny how I want access to the HLF not for any of the above possibilities, but for the choobish trolling and humor :P

I know that Indecent Act has her Linkify thread in the HLF, which makes it exclusive even though the act of foruming isn't exclusive to HLF folk. Do people feel that putting effort into worthwhile threads is much more worth it in the HLF than in regular forums?

Lisa
, that's actually a pretty good analogy lol. Thanks for it

Neither; it's just a cocktail of elitism, snobbery and self-satisfaction. Not that all HLF'ers are guilty of this.

It's people who want choobish trolling, and who take advantage of the more relaxed rules rather than appreciating WHY they are more relaxed, who make the HLF so much less useful than it could be.

In this respect it differs greatly from the CLF, which self-moderates very effectively and contains a lot of genuinely useful thoughts and threads.

Why put a thread about an addon which deals with links in a part of the forum where people can't post links?

Hard to say, because there are so few worthwhile threads.

I keep forgetting that I'm using the term "trollish sense of humor" too vaguely--since there are times where people think they're being funny, but they're actually very hurtful.

Hm, I guess nooby sense of humor is a better descriptor of the type of humor I appreciate? Cheeky?

That's a shame how even amongst themselves, there exist HLFers who have elitist attitudes and don't respect fellow posters.

I use Linkify and it's honestly super useful, because of how I can put a border around my own posts or posts of friends or clannies, etc, because I can quote parts of a post instead of having to excise things out within the teeny "Add Reply box," and especially because I can customize my color palette.

I often
highlight
someone's name if I'm addressing them, and every day on the Vix thread, I'll also color code my combos, whether they're
excellent
,
meh
, or
poor
runes.

I manually type in the tags for red since it's short enough and because I don't normally post combos with bad runes, but even then I have to be careful I open and close all my tags properly, because if I make a typo, my entire post's formatting is messed.

Arch
, and thanks for the responses :P
