Regarding moderation in the CLF, would it be possible to implement a similar system here that the Community Helpers use in the regular forums?
What do you mean by this exactly?

Community Helpers are led by the Customer Support department. We have limited tools at our disposal that we're only allowed to use within the Customer Support sections. We can lock threads, but we can't change thread titles or hide posts.

When you rewrite the forum rules, could you please post them as a pinned topic? I have looked for rules/guidelines for these forums but haven't found them. Perhaps I just haven't looked in the right section.

Above the 'jump to forum' dropdown on the CLF forum click 'specific forum rules' :)

Community Helpers are led by the Customer Support department. We have limited tools at our disposal that we're only allowed to use within the Customer Support sections. We can lock threads, but we can't change thread titles or hide posts.

I meant having a small moderation team within the CLF made up of clan leaders on a volunteer basis, selected by JMods, or voted on by us who would have access to tools, such as editing titles and locking threads, who aren't FMods. It wouldn't be exactly like Community Helpers, but that was a good starting point to use as an example since this shows it's possible to give some tools to forumers, who aren't FMods, which only work in specific forum sections.

Personally, I feel it would be beneficial to allow trusted clan leaders to help moderate the CLF rather than only rely on FMods or Shauny. Also, hiding posts should be reserved only for JMods in the CLF. Just some basic housekeeping would be the bulk of their responsibilities.

It's just an idea that came to mind while reading Shauny's post. I'm not sure what Jagex's stance on this would be, if other clan leaders would want something like that here, or if it would even be possible to implement for the CLF.

I don't know if a community helper style layout would be beneficial since it would be another team for Shauny to closely train and keep track of and might be hard to determine who is "trustworthy" if he doesn't already have individuals in mind. It would be completely up to Shauny though. It wouldn't necessarily take very many individuals to help moderate. /\

Do people here really request moderation that often or at all?
I guess if moderation is required we need a system where it doesn't fall to Mod Shauny, but generally speaking I'd hope as leaders we're generally discerning enough to dismiss any comments that are just made to incite trouble.
But I understand this forum doesn't specifically have any behavioral requirements to join, although that might be addressed in the new forum rules.
I guess I haven't been as active here as I'd like to, I haven't noticed these problems.

Thanks Shauny!

In terms of Fmods. I would like it if they were only allowed to lock threads/change titles upon request and only hide posts if it's an urgent rule-breaking thing. like a link to a bad website.

If anything gets major, then they could highlight it to you, or another Jmod.
+1

However I understand directing extra workload to J-Mods might not be practical.
But I would echo your sentiment in asking any moderators to limit moderation basically to people who have just completely lost the plot.

Apart from that, if there is any mean or bullying behaviour, we as leaders can call it out when we see it & use our voice to shine a light on it, rather than have it hidden & preventing all involved or witnessing it from possibly learning some lessons that they might carry with them in the future.

I'd like to say we should all have a thick skin & not be bothered with what anyone else says, but my experience in Runescape has shown me that there is people from all walks of life, & we don't know their past experiences, & if there is sensitive people, they shouldn't be derided or dismissed, they should be protected by the rest of us, because this isn't an environment where they will learn life lessons or toughen up by being exposed to behaviour that will cause them anxiety or upset.

I guess that's about knowing your audience, & we should all care about the effect of what we say has on others.
