Hey all,

Its become increasingly clear there's an issue in the CLF right now, I can't promise it'll all turn around quickly but here's what I'm proposing we do about it.

1. I've removed a member from the CLF, this member who had also leaked stuff from CLF but was also just generally toxic and did more harm than good sadly.

2. I want to rewrite the forum rules, I intend to get these sorted this week

3. I'm going to see if the Fmods have time to deal with moderation issues here as sadly I just don't have the time enough to do this :(

4. CLF applications, I'll go through these this week to get more people in and spice up the forums a little more.

On a personal note, I'd like to apologise personally for letting it get this far, so I'm hoping these steps will help us get there.

If I'm missing anything/give me feedback please do!

Thank you :)

Shauny, I think we all know you're chronically overworked and short on time, and we appreciate the amount that you have managed to do for the clans community.

I have no problem at all with allowing FMods to moderate in the CLF, *if* only those FMods who are part of the clan leader community will have access to do so. I don't think that opening up the forum to ALL FMods would be a good idea - after so long self-moderating, the forum needs to be properly understood.

I've not seen that many issues, but then again I've not been that active here either. Though I've seen enough to know you're doing a great job Shauny, you don't have to apologize for anything.

Do we have any FMods part of the clanning community left though?

Thank you Shauny, we really do appreciate all that you do.

As clan leaders we should be able to behave and discuss matters in a grown up mature manner without things descending to the situation that we need moderation from any source. However, anything here that will help you is a plus in my book.

You should know that the negativity on these forums comes from a very small minority, and whomever you removed may already rectify the problem, and allow these forums to become what they always used to be. The vast majority of us couldn't be happier with all that you have done and continue to do for clans.

Thanks for this Shauny. I appreciate the fact that you're being open about the current state of affairs here.

I agree with the above on asking the F-Mods if they'd be willing to provide the global housecleaning service here, although I have to echo what Arch has said about it being solely those who are already part of the CLF.

Thank you Shauny! ^_^

Also, as others have said, only allow FMods who currently have CLF access or meet the requirements to get access (Owner or Deputy Owner of their clan), don't just open it to all of them.

Thanks Shauny!

In terms of Fmods. I would like it if they were only allowed to lock threads/change titles upon request and only hide posts if it's an urgent rule-breaking thing. like a link to a bad website.

If anything gets major, then they could highlight it to you, or another Jmod.

Thanks Shauny!

You've been doing a commendable job with clans so far, and I'm sure we're all looking forward to see what's in store for us in the future.

Regarding moderation in the CLF, would it be possible to implement a similar system here that the Community Helpers use in the regular forums? This way, we wouldn't necessarily need to have only FMods who are also clan leaders and are also active in the CLF to assist in moderating this forum section. Additionally, bringing in FMods who are not clan leaders to moderate here would not be ideal, and I personally don't think this would be taken very well if it were to happen, as confirmed in other replies before this one.

For the most part, the issues that pop up here are infrequent and typically minor (thread locks, title changes, the occasional spam post), but more moderation is a necessity to keep things running smoothly. If you, or another Jmod, could post in the CLF Moderation Escalation and Flag a Concern threads to acknowledge they've been read, that would help us see those reports aren't being ignored. Even if it's similar to how Mod Lee posts in the HLF Help & Action Center on a regular basis, even if no new posts are made, to show the thread has been checked, that would suffice.

This is a unique community because we're all leaders who are passionate about the clan community as a whole. We should all be able to work together for the sake of clans, regardless of differing opinions. If everyone always agreed on everything, there would be no point to having discussions in the first place.
