our clan ranking system can be found here:

www.theseventhregiment.com/claninfo

Our ranking system is based off of levels, gear, and skill as a PVM'er. But this question can be answered by anyone:

"Why should your members rank up?"

Basically, why should your members rank up in your clan? What is the benefit of it, how do you motivate them, is there any incentive? Im curious to know, and am trying to look for ways myself. Right now we use ranks for priority to bossing teams with limited spots. The higher your rank, the more priority you get.

Mine are based on time spent, points earned for capping, attending events etc.

TBH, no one in my clan cares about their rank. If they need an avatar they ask, they get it.

We motivate with gp prizes mostly.

woah woah woah I've read all your rank requirements... holy i wouldn't be motivated for some especially since some may be outdated.

let's first start with the teamspeak one, discord is more secure and easier to operate with.

I like your clans quest like (and gear like) requirements but they arent very a good factor to base ranks on, i can camp bosses with less gear so i wouldn't be able to gain ranks even though i can get more kills than a choob with high end gear (richer than i am).

I also saw your first rules was like a 21day trial, the fact i see about 8 inactive players in your clan isn't really motivating either.
--
Personally I would determine your ranks on the amount of boss kills AND the amount of boss "events" participated/hosted in (Can be a specific boss such as raids/Rago/rots....).

Of course the efficiency of those bosses will be better with the requirements you gave but i would use those as guide lines rather than reqs

In my clan we got a strict ranking system but (with points). you can get points with basicallly everything.
From hosting events (3+ people), to killing people inside the wilderness, to participate in our exp related events, to capping in the citadel, to helping people.

Everything that can contribute towards the clan is noted.

For admin ranks there is also a strict line.
Admins: for managing the avatars
organisers for people that host events frequently
coordinators: for those keeping an eye out in the chat, clan document maintainers and recruiters
overseers: to oversee all
deputy/owner: basically all of the about
Mini-games, minigames. I love you click HERE!!! if you do too!

Well....We have a guideline for how we rank in Duel, but if I'm being completely open...

We tend to just make it up a bit as we go along. There are probably recruits that deserve way better ranks, and as a matter of fact, this forum kind of reminded me to give them one LOL.

However like Jamandy talked about, nobody in my clan really cares about ranking. Extremely few care, and the ones that care have preferences but would rather anything so long as debates on what system works best don't have to take place.

Never before had I seen a clan so carefree about ranks. It unnerved me at first actually...

The fact is however, everyone only cares about PVM and chatter. I've been a friend of the owner for years, I received Overseer very quickly, and nobody cared. Only two other people asked any questions, and after they met me, all was well. In short, it was extremely weird.

But I'm going overboard.....Here's how we rank:

Recruit – new members
Corporal – people who log on
Captain – potential general/admins
General – mid-activity in clan
Admin – high activity in clan
Organizer – hosts events

So yeah, mind numbingly simple. There's not really any motivation unless someone is truly self-motivated or otherwise skilled and wishes to help run the clan. Technically even recent recruits can be organizers as such, though even we 9 times out of 10 prioritize higher ranks to longer term members.

.....

On a personal note Andras, while I admire the creativity, I strongly oppose your rank system. I have guested and find your clan wonderful, but if I found gear requirements unsavory let alone trials....

Motivation to rank for the sake of priority to get onto teams is suffice to say not my cup of tea.

Duel is infinitely more willy-nilly then you guys, but I guess we must do something right. 10 years later and we're still swinging. ^_^

Our clan system is based on clan XP (known as CXP) and clan contribution & participation (known as CCP) . It is credit (aka point) based.

CXP encourages activity and playing, especially for people to do their own thing and work on improving their character and progressing in the game, and rewards them for it as one of the aspects of our clan is skilling, and is also a great method of ranking up if you're a hardcore skiller and/or don't like to be involved in clan-based activities and just want to play the game.

CCP is based on capping (or visiting), attending/hosting events, being social, friendly, helpful and more, and it's especially for people who like to give to the clan and do clan-based activities and be well involved. Along with XP, it naturally makes progressing through the ranks faster.

As a result, it's friendly to and fits all types of players, and they have the freedom to rank up in the ways they favour or are most comfortable with that suit their preferred playing styles. There are no forced rank up requirements, nor time restrictions, and ranks are fully dependent on how active someone is and/or how much they give the clan.

People rank up mostly because the feeling of progression and 'achievement' is nice, and ranks serve as a mark of what they've achieved or given to the clan (which tend to go parallel with time spent), and they can also earn avatar warden if they're interested, trusted and responsible, in addition to potentially leading the clan.

Getting ranks in our clan isn't something to motivate people, it's to reward people (if that makes any sense). Because of how our clan is structured, nothing is required for anyone (except Admin+ having a secure account).

If someone is motivated to be one of our top ranks, there's both a means for them to do that as well as a means to slow them down to prevent an abuse attempt (Working their way up in rank too quickly, to hurt our clan or throw their weight around). For the average clanmember though, their rank is just a reward for being "one of us" and talking. For instance, you don't have to join our clan's Discord channel, but it's appreciated and makes you a more likely candidate for a promotion.

As I've said previously in CLF for my clan's ranking.....

As our clan has no requirements, we base it off several things, including but not limited to:

• Capping
• Interaction with other clanmembers
• Time in clan
• Using the clan chat
• Attending clan events
• Being in our clan Facebook group chat
• Being in our clan Discord channel
• Having "VC" in front of your name is +1 free rank if you keep it for at least a month

Basically....it all just boils down to "be an active part of our community."

I don't take rank as motivation or reward but more like honour.

To us most important is maturity, communication, effort, dedication.
It isn't easy to measure and can be subjective sometimes but this principle works best.
In my clan nothing is mandatory, yet we got regular events and T7 citadel.

I discuss it with co leaders before annual events, who deserves rank up.
We always look up who's been great person, who brings fun, activity and good vibe.

Who have been polite, helpful, good teamer, active at events. Who have been supportive and dedicated. We discuss Clan chat, Teamspeak, skillwars, raids and wars participation, capping at the citadel as well.

I strictly avoid systems that allow people climb up without being worth it. It would be nightmare to us when someone says: I meet requirements, yet they aren't like rank should be in our community. I don't want to see any contest or fight or tryharding over rank up.

I want to keep all roles covered with great persons who are respected by clan members. Of course - some people are controversial. It isn't always simple. I'm quite happy that we got some lively spirits who bring fun (:

It was about admin+ ranks.

First and lowest ranks are based on clan members opinion.

Player who posted correct introduction post to our offsite gets invited and 1 stripe rank.
For getting first rank up they need to be introduced for 21 days and get positive feedback. When we see they are welcomed and three weeks passed, intro post gets locked and their forums status updated. Now they are allowed to post joining application.

Now they need to collect 7-10 positive votes. All votes need to be posted and reasons added, how this new person impressed us, what good did people notice about them. After votes are collected we update status at forums, Teamspeak, cc and congratulate them as Kirstunael official members.

After it they are allowed to sign up as admin and avatar warden. This is a big leap where it gets tricky... (:
