I don't take rank as motivation or reward but more like honour.
To us most important is maturity, communication, effort, dedication.
It isn't easy to measure and can be subjective sometimes but this principle works best.
In my clan nothing is mandatory, yet we got regular events and T7 citadel.
I discuss it with co leaders before annual events, who deserves rank up.
We always look up who's been great person, who brings fun, activity and good vibe.
Who have been polite, helpful, good teamer, active at events. Who have been supportive and dedicated. We discuss Clan chat, Teamspeak, skillwars, raids and wars participation, capping at the citadel as well.
I strictly avoid systems that allow people climb up without being worth it. It would be nightmare to us when someone says: I meet requirements, yet they aren't like rank should be in our community. I don't want to see any contest or fight or tryharding over rank up.
I want to keep all roles covered with great persons who are respected by clan members. Of course - some people are controversial. It isn't always simple. I'm quite happy that we got some lively spirits who bring fun (:
It was about admin+ ranks.
First and lowest ranks are based on clan members opinion.
Player who posted correct introduction post to our offsite gets invited and 1 stripe rank.
For getting first rank up they need to be introduced for 21 days and get positive feedback. When we see they are welcomed and three weeks passed, intro post gets locked and their forums status updated. Now they are allowed to post joining application.
Now they need to collect 7-10 positive votes. All votes need to be posted and reasons added, how this new person impressed us, what good did people notice about them. After votes are collected we update status at forums, Teamspeak, cc and congratulate them as Kirstunael official members.
After it they are allowed to sign up as admin and avatar warden. This is a big leap where it gets tricky... (:
