Citadel: (Downgrade query)

: the problem with the citadel tier is that it doesn't change until a player enters it. so, for instance, if no one entered a T7 citadel for 6 months... it would still be T7 as far as the website is concerned, even tho as soon as anyone went into it it would probably dilapidate down to T1

: Citadels were encoded specifically for tier 7 - to add more tiers would require a complete rework from the ground up.
: That is why I have said before that you are more likely to have Citadels scrapped than add an 8th tier or above.

: When getting some lamps (example: Dragonkin lamp - Effigy) it tell you the amount of xp you would get when you click the icon of the skill
can the same be done for the bonus xp you can claim from the quartermaster?

: We need to do a great big consistency fix there. We have a general-use Thing That Gives XP interface that we haven't backfilled all our past content into.

: I had Timbo's agreement a couple of months ago to look at them - I don't think we did, but we had a couple of XP rates we felt should change.

: the time when you get the "you have capped enough this week to claim the bonus xp from the quatermaster" message always procs at different times, its anywhere between 900-1600 resources, is there a reason why its random? can you make it static at one number?

: It's by number of procs so the resources will vary on tier, type of resource etc

: actually curious how (technically) the current next build tick is determined
: because if it's just 7 days from when first person joins after the most recent build tick, there has to be some kind of datetime calculation capabilities in the engine

: Build tick system stores %last_build_tick and %next_build_tick_due; if the one is greater than the other it executes a build tick and adds one week to %next_build_tick_due
: It doesn't do '7 days after the last build' because builds don't happen exactly weekly (since they need a player present)
: The engine can indeed give you minutes_since_runescape_launched()

: Got it, and how is one week added to %next_build_tick_due?

: minutes_in_one_week() is an easy enough function to define in script
: add it to the existing value
: We could reasonably easily set %next_build_tick_due to midnight of next Wednesday, and remove the move-build-tick option, at which point after next wednesday all citadels would switch to weds midnight builds
: (I wrote the whole build system and I wish I hadn't >_> so ugly now we've got better tools to handle it)

: As it has been explained numerous times in the past by Jagex, the citadel is massively bugged and to conduct a rewrite would be a bigger development project then elf city, alongside that alterations to citadel would directly affect clan permissions which in turn would need to be addressed, How would Jagex plan to address the timescale of this project when clans are finding it really difficult to get an update outside of TAPP?

: I've got a couple of Clan things I've done in TAPP, that'll go out in the near future hopefully and there's more I want to do
: There's a ridiculous amount of stuff to consider though so always need to be aware of that

: It's not that the notion of the Citadel is pointless. Having a place a clan can call its own, that gives clannies a reason to work together, and rewards them for doing so with gameplay and cosmetic benefits, and provides additional tools for playing the game together, is all worthy stuff
: Devil's in the details of the implementation, particularly the technical debt and obsoleted/ignored features
: It's basically why you don't get citadel updates

: no author of the original system works for JAgex any more
: It's in a weird unidentified place of 'nobody wants to touch this in case it Just Plain Dies'

: Mod Shauny, Ironmen do not receive Clan Avatar benefits. With the upcoming update, will they still be able to claim the clan avatar as a pet? And will their avatar be able to gather for the citadel along with the others (as it is not a direct benefit to the IM account)?(edited)

: Has there been any talk of removing the -75% exp reduction for ironmen on all skillplots? I've been trying to think of ways to make the Citadel more useful/worthwhile for Ironman accounts.

: I think Ironman mode has been out for a reasonable amount of time and could allow for the boosts. I don't think it would be game-breaking for the ironman community. It's not like double exp or anything

- Ironman will get 25% xp as they did before, But when Ava rework comes out they'll get the Ava as a follower pet if they want

: if 100% cit xp for ironmen isn't viable, is 50% viable? My clans ironmen/women were looking very forward to more cit xp, atm they feel the cit isn't worth their time.(edited)
: is also letting ironmen be able to use the 50% faster cap buff viable? (doesn't exactly give them more xp)

: 50% more XP isn't really viable, right now Ironman clans don't really benefit from anything in the Citadels so don't bother to upgrade them, even if I was to do the the 50% faster cap buff it still wouldn't be worth it for them
