In the year ahead video it is stated:

6:26 We've also neglected clans over the years and we want that time to end.
6:30 We've collected info from current clan members and leaders
6:33 and we've got prioritised areas of attack.
6:36 We're eager to make clans more versatile to manage.
6:38 We want new players to be introduced to clans early
6:40 so that they can be guided to the best content.
6:42 And we want clans to feel a little more competition with each other.
6:45 We might even bring clans more onto the surface world.
6:48 It's still early days and it's similarly reliant on mobile to be launched,
6:52 but we'll begin to sneak out smaller clan updates and show you our design before then.

This has raised a few questions for us and personally, I would like to know how much input we can have on some of these designs. Have not seen any discussion of it in here at all, so its not clear who the information has been collected from or how. As I have been saying since early August now, it's a good time for us to work together to give Jagex our input on what we would like to see before its too late in the development process.

Also in regard to 'And we want clans to feel a little more competition with each other', the player survey is showing a distinct 50/50 split on this.

How much of the prioritized areas of attack are from Moltare's days, and part of the list he left with Mod Osborne when he left...

Yeah, I share a lot of the same questions/concerns as you mentioned. I've seen some vague ideas floated on discord and some very broad concepts, but nothing like clear information/details from JMods about clan updates to that extent.

If it's just stating an intention to gather the information and data later on from clans & clan leaders then I can understand that and wait until time to help provide feedback and ideas. But if it's like already decided path/ideas, I don't know where the designs or feedback has come to suggest some of it.

For us (as a clan), we wouldn't necessarily want the competition side, at least not to the extent of some of the ideas floated. Plus I haven't seen or heard many clan leaders really clamoring for that, nor much feedback in general on either side of it until just recently.

I'd very much like to be involved with any feedback/ideas that affect us a personal group/clan, but also the community as a whole. As Noet mentioned, even on the survey there is no where near a main consensus for something like extra competition. Anecdotally, there is a lot of interest in group content - but difference between clan vs clan and more fun/teamwork type group content (that isn't another boss :p ). So would be curious what kind of stage things are at on that.

My Clan is not Competitive in anyway we try to help each other .

The citadel was originally a competitive Race to see who had the best citadel who could maintain it.

This Attitude Destroyed as many clans as it made.

Yes I want the clan citadel to be destroyed and an = feature established in the surface world.


Yes i want the clan community to have a clan bench / hut / house / palace in each town

Yes clans want Combat areas link to clan wars castle wars and other mini games / but not my clan because we are not competitive .


To say clans own Any areas to me is scary jagex has so many times pandered to the competitive players in game. Continually adding or reinventing dead content .

Is anyone playing bounty hunter / crucible . Soul wars . so many mini games are dead content .

Im an older player who got left in this game 15 years ago by my son.

I Love grinding levels i will never comp some things are beyond me.

I want the seasonal features in game to be given to clans i want the village fete to be part of clans.

If that can be combat fun competitive games then yes but to say 1 clan owns an area is wrong

I want clan deep sea fishing and diving areas

I want clan Farm clan zoo clan taxidermy butcher hunting Game keeping

I want the ability to put my 15 years of experience in this game to make clan items weapons armour clothing .

Fine table s chair jewellery , Storage boxes .

A clan mead hall function room of heraldry . tapestries

I want to be able to build my clan area from my skills in thatching carpentry stonemason brick laying


I dont want a fictitious map ownership i want ability to do more crative skills

I want multiple clan buildings all over map yes of different styles and functions

I want a clan p o h with everything thats in poh and everything above.

or just a clan work bench in each guild . but not world domination

My clan is not competitive and we don't want to be.

Recruitment is already pretty cutthroat in how competitive it is, we don't need to make that situation worse.

I'd rather they made it "competitive" by encouraging friendly warring again.

Clans that want to be competitive will make their own competitions and organize their own battles. Clans/groups only need good places and game mechanics for good competition and perhaps some rewards to lure in new people. But "official" ladders like Rated Clan Wars and stuff like that is bound to fail as most people simply aren't interested in it.

If you want to drag new people in warring you should add a dummy mode in CWA in which clans/teams/groups without voicechat can have their callers plant markers over people's head (just like in Dungeoneering). Obviously nobody is going to type ingame anymore with EoC/Legacy as it only takes seconds to kill someone. Should improve combat as well and speak with Mod Jed as he made some good PvP updates in OSRS.

PvM competitions would be fun if clans could just arrange it between each other and could simply track all the drops of their members without having to rely on checking runemetrics/screenshots. Again most clans don't play for competition so just keep it fun and between clans or groups.

Also sad there's going to be another top tier group boss while there's still no group boss for non top tier PvMers such as non-PvM clans. We've already seen quite some dps/level/boss scaling in world events, so it shouldn't be too hard to create a group boss that most clans can actually do despite not all their members being close to maxed.

Either way, seems like Jagex should communicate with clans about more updates than just the ones involving the clan chat system.

If clans want competition there's already plenty of options for that. We don't need more competition, we need better ways to work with the outdated/broken clan system that we are forced to use. I would much rather see one clan permission rewrite rather than 100 small clan updates.

I agree with the others. Clans do not need to be more competitive. I'd rather focus on primary tools and ways for us to operate more smoothly, than some awful, knock-off, dev-time-waste of a no-one's-gonna-use-it competition mode.

Point = clan wars is dead and almost no one cares.

Give us something worthwhile. You know what it is - we've been yelling at you about it for years.

Please... please listen...

We need actual clan updates that can help Can Admins rune clans more easily.
Ex.
Able to see list of members who have capped at citadel
how long a member has in inactive for so we don't have to use 3rd party websites like Runeclan
Also able to see which clan member recruited who.
