Myself and a clannie have also experienced not being able to log back into a world after being lobbied with an avatar for at least a few minutes.
I've already reported it as a bug, but the "Have you tried turning it off and on again" works in regards to closing the Runescape client and re-opening it
(Just in case others encounter a similar situation and don't end up spending 2 minutes spam switching tabs and trying to "Log in" lol)

Ahh no, that's to do with the way the avatars spawn. They actually DO spawn on the same world, then check and disappear. They're still attached to the warden tho, so it is displaying correctly the last world the avatar was on.
the thought of your avatar running (or floating) around lost without you because you hopped to another world and its stuck on the previous one....
