"Privacy" settings should NEVER affect displaying of the Clan Name. JS. It's a stupid thing to hide, there's no good reason to.

Actually, hiding a clan with privacy settings is a smart idea if you're trying to avoid getting scouted while you're in the wilderness. During DXP weekend, when I was grinding 99 agility, I had multiple pkers try to join my CC to scout me. I don't think this sort of thing should be removed; however, if Jagex were to implement a way for everyone to know if someone else is in a clan or not without giving away what clan they're in, I'd be down for that.

The banner would also help prevent those clan scammers with their lookalike names. Support for a hover option. Instead of a banner I would also support just a clan name.

If you're talking about clans that have lookalike names that are meant to trick 1 person into thinking it's another clan, the banner would help in a lot of cases but not 100% of them. For example: another guy went out of his way to make a fake version of my clan. The details are long-since outdated, but he went out of his way to copy our banner, create a similar clan name to ours, create leader names similar to ours, and even copy our clan motto.

How about this simple solution:

Get rid of the country flag related to the world you're on in your friendlist and replace it for a miniature of your clan banner?

I think this would solve the overcrowded friends list thing and would make it a lot more useful.

Great idea. I would "thumbs up" your post if there were an option, but I suppose that is another thread. Also, I don't remember the flags being there on the friends list when I first presented this idea; a new addition perhaps.

That's a good idea, however, I disagree with Zythix. I think some people won't want their clan to be shown . This is why some people have their examine info hidden and why they hide their info on runemetrics/runeclan as well.

Sure you might not see a reason why someone would want to hide the clan that they're in, but it's none of your business. If you want to know what clan they're in when it's hidden, you can ask them. They are on your friends list after all.

So for this to work out for everyone, there would need to be a toggle for those who don't want their information displayed, which has it's own unique set of coding, making things more complicated.

Hopefully it works out though :)

I think that was what OP was saying in the first place :P

This would be a nice addition. definitely would be welcomed, The friend-list has a huge box, if expanded, therefor it isn't too over crowded, in fact my friend-list has tons of space around, where the banner can go.

They could do Name- Country Flag - World- clan Banner in the empty slot.

So, did it occur to you to turn off guesting? LOL
