Thanks hehe, not sure if I'll dress up again and can't take a vex with me this time. Would love to know the theme however ;)

Too bloody right. Fortunately for him, he had you at his side to keep kicking arses till someone was found who had the authority to let him and his vex in. That definitely needs to be made crystal clear to any outside security firm BEFORE the event this time round.

It depends on the material your vex is made out of, seen ours was made from PVC and foam it was all okay and had no issues at all entering. The Runefest information last year clearly explained this in detail, also in reference to the cosplay and what objects were allowed.

It's not the securities fault, just make sure to read the fine print.
