A very interesting idea.

When we consider a feature we have to weigh up the amount of code + time for testing vs usefulness of the feature.

If this was done it would have several knock on effects... like the 6 hour cool down timer not being reset to 6 hours for the new "owner" of the avatar. This could mean, if you claim an avatar with only 20 minutes to go on its timer, you'll only have it for 20 minutes before it returns to the citadel. This data can only be changed when you're in the citadel - so it's not something we could update on a claim action.

There may also be other connotations that I have not considered yet.

Thanks for adding the idea to the melting pot, I can't guarantee it will ever happen, but ideas are always worth considering. :-)

Answers to a few questions/comments:

@Captslavedvr: It's very unlikely that we'll be adding new tiers to citadels in the next few years. I understand why you want them, but it's just too expensive to consider at the moment. New plots and new citadel features may be possible, but it isn't at the top of our list right now.

Lots of people have asked for this but both new tiers and new plots would require a complete rework of the Citadel code - it itself being the largest project we have run in at least 5 years. With our current commitments resource wise this seems highly unlikely in the forseeable future. -

Could orts be kept after leaving a clan? Or could orts be removed altogether?

Hey Pescao6,

I've had a look through your thread on Orts and will confirm that there are no plans to change how Orts work. I understand that you feel very strongly about it BUT Orts were designed to discourage people from swapping clans at whim.

The benefit of an avatar is very player focused rather than clan focused so this might be a stronger deterrent for the player than simply losing their citadel benefits - which they may not even take part in. This isn't about keeping players in clans that they don't like, it's more to discourage players swapping to another clan to use their avatar and then back again once they're done. It should also make players think twice if they are leaving a clan without much thought (which can be a good thing) and maybe inspire a bit more clan loyalty.

Whilst I love the idea of naming not only your citadel but also your dragon and avatars, any free text input into the game is open to abuse and therefore must have reporting systems and people to monitor them.

We could potentially do something similar to the baby troll or your ship in Player owned Ports though.

Naming your clan avatar
The ability to give each of your clan avatars a name, in a similar way to how you name your ship in PoP.
