It doesnt create any extra space as the amount of threads stored remains the same.
But there'll be less Count to 50 threads, and therefore more threads with topics. The number of threads will remain the same, but there'll be more room for what you would refer to as "quality" threads.

Theyll just eventually fall off the bottom when they reach it and be replaced with new threads just the like all the other dead threads down there too, its irrelevant as to if they are there or not, makes no difference.

I used to be completely opposed to the counting thread, until I realized it was a great way to get people who otherwise never post, to post. It's nice having 'evidence' that the CLF isn't dead, and posting on the counting thread gets me to see the front page of CLF pretty much every day, even if I don't have an answer to a question I see.

Except it seems that for some people its the only thing they post on, so coming on to just a post a number from time to time is hardly evidence of activity because its basically all the forum is now.

It really shocks me how popular it is, while many other important threads are desolate of any contribution.

I don't really get that at all. I'll post on it once or twice in half a year maybe, but there are what - nearly half a dozen people or more posting on it extremely often and... nothing else?

If it were up to me, it would just be left to forum games or some other section. At this point it's just people farming their post count and taking away from potential discussion on CLF.

This is a very unpopular opinion and more than likely, nothing at all will get done about the unimportant count-to thread. Sad.
"Why are you posting threads, asking questions and making discussion???"

Adding to my previous post, if the count-to thread HAS to stay, I would think it's better off without a sticky. I know some people, myself included, who tend to not look twice at a sticky thread.

I'm guessing you're more likely to get new posters to the thread while not stickied.

I do not mind if the thread is gone or not. But the thread is also handy to see how often some players check out CLF ;)

I do read most threads/reactions here but do not contribute to them if I can not add anything to the discussion. I assume more people do that, so the thread comes in handy to know if the person actually is on CLF.

For those referring to it as a "spam thread" I'd just like to point something out.

Long ago, prior to count to 50 being brought in to the CLF, the JMods rarely, if ever, checked the CLF threads. Then a member of the CLF thought to bring in a count to 50 thread. Eventually, this brought in Maz and Matthe to check the forums a lot more often (at least daily at this point in time).

If this thread were to have never existed, we'd likely not get the JMod interaction we do now, however it's impossible to know if, should the thread be removed altogether, if JMods would continue to come to the CLF or not. Because there aren't new threads daily, so they wouldn't feel the need to come to it daily, and eventually might start visiting it more and more rarely, until it becomes like it used to.

Essentially, is it a spam thread? Maybe. But it brought two great JMods to the CLF to check it consistently.

Like others, I don’t see any benefit to stickying.

Anything past page 15-20 is deemed 'dead' and we get a slap on the wrist for grave-bumping, so I don’t think it matters to have older versions loitering. If we had 50 pages of active discussions the old count threads would disappear anyway.

Subzero's point about the 'negligible benefit' of encouraging J-Mod's to visit - with the count thread we KNOW they visited ;)

I don't feel as though it needs to be stickied. It's off topic, pointless, and adds 0 to the conversation of clan leadership. That being said, I'm typically of the anti-lock mindset so if people enjoy it and want to continue it as it currently operates then it's whatever.
