Treasure Trail item sets\tShared buy limit of 2\t50 but there is still a group restriction
on the ninja part of the news
This is totally fine as Jagex didn't artificially fix or influence the prices of any items. They are changing GE limits on many kinds of items like feathers, bettle bits, spirit shards and such, aiming to improve the quality of game play. Players still have full control of how much they want to buy and sell all these items regardless of the new GE limits.

They can't force players to set their own prices of items in a player driven economy like RS3 is. Players still set their prices in the GE regardless of the buy/sell limits. Don't forget they can also buy/sell their items outside the GE too.

Improving the quality of a portion of the game, namely trading fortunate components, is literally the aim of this suggestion. Changing the price isn't the primary goal here, I don't know where you even got that from.
That's not OP's aim. He explicitly want Jagex to do something to increase the demand of Fortunate Items, not the quality of the game.
It seems that you have the whole purpose of this thread wrong, despite the best efforts of people like PiraBob. The point of this suggestion is to make fortunate components easier to buy/sell, not increase demand. The demand for Fortunate components is the whole reason why this thread exists, nobody cared about TT limits in 2015.

This was actually a pretty nice update. I knew that Jagex had the ability to "group" potions so that all the doses shared the same limit, but had no idea that they could lump 300+ items all into one category. I would still prefer component crates to make it even easier to obtain components, but I love that Jagex at least has their eye on this.

I don't think I get the purpose of this thread wrong if you keep talking about DEMAND of the Fortunate Components. Jagex shouldn't affect the supply and demand of a player driven economy. They aren't going to ration Fortunate Components to artificially inflate/deflate the price of Fortunate Components.
Changing the limit of an item like Fortunate Component or spirit shard won't change the fundamental mechanics of obtaining them whatsoever, hence no effect to the supply and demand of Fortunate Components.
Dilbert, I only keep talking about demand because of people like you that mistakenly claim that this will somehow impact the supply/demand of the products. The fundamental mechanics of how the items come into the game and the products that they can be turned into won't be changed, this is just a mechanic to make it easier to trade those components.
Fortunate components are not designed to be tradeable. Why do Jagex want to make just Fortunate and not the other components like Zamorak and Shadows easier to trade?
If Jagex want to make a change to add material crates to all the invention materials but not just Fortunate then I will agree they won't change the player driven economy.
