I wouldn't even expect a major shift to be honest. Making the components tradeable rather than the clue rewards directly doesn't really change anything much for the supply or the demand. People buy composite bows purely because they want the fortunates, they're not spending in excess of a million for a weapon that's weaker than an Elder Shortbow that costs 1% as much. All it really does is bring sellers and buyers easier together by introducing a common item by which to trade them with, enabling trade in the first place. If anything, it makes the economy more free by removing the restriction of tradeable fortunates being locked into dozens of different items. Bob

It won't matter how you word it, in a player driven economy or free market economy, the governments should "shift" what prices to favor certain players of the economy. It is just a no-no.

By that "logic" Jagex would never improve/update the game. The point of a player driven economy is that players trade among themselves and set their own prices rather than having fixed/shop prices. There's still plenty of room for ninja fixes and new content though because they never promised to stop updating the game entirely.

I don't find the argument that Jagex shouldn't improve the game because it *might* impact prices at all persuasive.

By my logic Jagex only need to care about improving the game but not its economy. When the game is good it attracts more and more players. Only continuous influx of players will sustain a game's economy.

Almost every update affects the economy in some way. "it's a bad idea because it influences the economy" isn't really a convincing argument, just saying.

But none of the updates are aimed to affect the prices of any items and the economy. Updates are designed and delivered with the quality of the game in mind in RS3.

Improving the quality of a portion of the game, namely trading fortunate components, is literally the aim of this suggestion. Changing the price isn't the primary goal here, I don't know where you even got that from. Bob

That's not OP's aim. He explicitly want Jagex to do something to increase the demand of Fortunate Items, not the quality of the game.
